Something I made in 2023 about finding patterns and meaning in the random. Entropy gives us purpose.

“Stagnant” is a diorama exploring the altered perception of time during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a controlled environment where the flow of time can be shifted, appearing to slow down or speed up. The piece captures the strange elasticity of time experienced during moments of isolation, stress, and depression, where days could feel like years, and weeks seemed to vanish in a blink. This piece is a small diorama with an artificial sun that moves light across the room, giving the illusion of time passing by in strange and unpredictable ways.

Stagnant 2024

This summer, our talented intern @nuttlejason worked alongside @josephoconnellart to bring an innovative musical twist to public art! 🎶🔩

Together, they created an interactive exhibit where every bolt placed on a sensor produces a unique rhythm, allowing visitors to compose their own tunes. This hands-on prototype is just the beginning of an exciting new series of musical exhibits that will inspire and entertain for years to come.! 🎶✨

Another one of the projects I made with @creativemachines this past summer. This is a space for people to explore rhythms. My example here is very simple, but this drum machine allows for swinging, polyrhythms, and other techniques usually unavailable on drum machines.

This is one of the projects I did this summer with @creativemachines as a part of my design internship. The goal was to create a space where people can create music in collaboration with nature in an approachable way.

One of my favorite mini projects from my color theory class. A little moving overlap illusion.
