किसी शहर के नाले से बहकर गुजरते हुए फिर नदी में गिरना कश्ती के लिए उन देखे अनदेखे किरदारों से मिलने का अनुभव है जो अपने अपने इलाकों की पहचान हैं। नाले में प्लास्टिक की बॉटल के साथ हमजोली की तरह तिरते जाना, फिर मगरमच्छ की भूखी नज़रों का सामना करना और आगे जाकर समन्दर की लहरों के बीच ऑक्टोपस के विकराल शिकंजे में दमघोंटू पल बिताना, सब कुछ चित्रों में भी उतना ही सजीव और गहनता के साथ आया है।
विशाल समन्दर के अथाह पानी में ऑक्टोपस की चढ़ी हुई आँखें, लाल भूरा दहकता हुआ मांसल शरीर, और और उसकी भुजाओं में दबी हुई नन्हीं कश्ती देखकर आपको सिहरन हो जाए तो अचरज नहीं।
उठती लहरों के बीच बादलों से कड़कती बिजली की डोर पकड़कर कश्ती ने असामान की सैर भी उसी शिद्दत से की है जैसे नदी नाले का सफर काटा है। फिर पहाड़ से लुढ़कते हुए रेगिस्तान में रेत के टीले से फिसलना भी कश्ती का ही खेल है। लेकिन हवा में उड़कर पानी के सैलाब में फिर से आना और हिलते बहकते हुए तिरते रहना शायद अब कश्ती को रास नहीं आया है। इसलिए अपने पंख खोलकर कश्ती से हवाई जहाज बनते हुए खुले आसमान की सैर पर निकल जाना चाहती है हमेशा के लिए। कश्ती का यह सफर एक शब्दहीन कविता की माफिक है।
