I chose to enter with name “Shōdo” because of people I brought with me. I have people that I can call family besides my blood ones and tbh they are damn near close to it. This trip wasn’t about me winning the battle but more so just watching my people experience the scene outside ours. It’s a big world out there and they deserve to live in it as much as I do. To really see that they’re just as valued and unique as me or anyone else they look up to. Y’all seen it for the first time, I seen it over years of growth and I’m grateful to say that VA got some monsters in it. As a Voguer, my whole life in the battle scene has been a fight to prove my style belongs and can take up space. After this I dont want to hear it. 5 judges, not from Fl, Not in my original Scene said i deserved the win. THE ONES WHO GET IT, GET IT!

This was a needed win more than even I knew. The last year has been a string of "damn am I actually good?" "Is it the style ?"
"What am I working hard for?". It was until Redbull world finals when it was hit to me, maybe I am good enough and this win just told me, stop worrying and keep moving.
