in search of studio mate (philly) avail aug 1st 2026
hello! I’m Ingrid, I work with textiles: dyeing/weaving/sculpting, painting/printmaking and filmmaking 🐚
I have been spoiled with the best studiomate @abbeymuza who is leaving soon: so I’m looking for a values-aligned, mature, sociable & covid-conscious/intentional person to share the studio. I mesh well with intentional, open-comms, proactive, and silly/funny personalities! with preference for 30yo + (tho flexible for right match.) use of space has been to make works, exhibit mini-shows, have curators visits, and occasional friends over (reasonably) We have a great relationship with our landlord and neighbors & would like to sustain this with future studiomate— does this resonate with your style of being/co-living? 🌞
about the stu:
(located in the northeast btwn Juniata & Frankford) at a (*unfortunately* non wheelchair accessible /no elevator, 3 v short flight of stairs) second floor luminous gorgeous studio. Pictured is the available half of the studio. rent is 297.50/mo + utilities ~
DM me to set up a visit/chat ~ decision will be made by july 1st with visits in june 2026 ~ share intentionally 🐚🧿

I want cornrows — Je veux des conrows (2026)
Handwoven with wool and raffia on loom
6ft by 18 inches
Teacher: Nancy Shiffrin, Philadelphia Guild of Handweavers
A meditation on hair braiding patterns, binary code, and materials with the loom. Inspired by African & Black diaspora hairstyles & my own connections of weaving and braiding as architectural engineering of indigenous technologies. Raffia sourced in Douala, Cameroon and wool found in Columbus, Ohio thrift stores. Together, the materials weave a story of place, histories, and methods of closing the gap between Western upbringings and African cultural identities.

reminiscing on 𝒫𝒾𝓉𝒸𝒽 𝐵𝓁𝓊𝑒 ~ a labor of love inspired by my migrations to the u.s. and in between cities as well as reckoning with elements of water, memory, textures, suspension, and engravings~
link in bio to watch the tour 💙
𝒫𝒾𝓉𝒸𝒽 𝐵𝓁𝓊𝑒takes its lexicon as the union between sound frequency and color imagery. Pitch is the frequency of a sound whereas Blue is a color and a feeling: a longing, a sadness, a contemplation.
𝒫𝒾𝓉𝒸𝒽 𝐵𝓁𝓊𝑒invites us to feel what we see and what we hear.
𝒫𝒾𝓉𝒸𝒽 𝐵𝓁𝓊𝑒operates as a mirror unto participants who are invested in excavating themselves in participation with the artist.
𝒫𝒾𝓉𝒸𝒽 𝐵𝓁𝓊𝑒utilizes photographs, weavings, sculpture, cartography, foraged plants and seashells to capture the dimensionality of their transient-alien identification.
𝒫𝒾𝓉𝒸𝒽 𝐵𝓁𝓊𝑒is the unification for all nomadic, indigenous, and alien peoples to gaze upon the universal pitch blue sky.
