@moritzvonoswald is an influential musician, percussionist, and producer working in electronic music. From his beginnings with projects such as Palais Schaumburg to foundational work with Basic Channel, his career has continually explored the relationships between rhythm, space, texture, and perception. β

At Rewire 2026, in the resonant surroundings of the Grote Kerk, von Oswald presents 'Silencio' with @thehaguevocalensemble, a chamber choir led by @angelikiploka. The work investigates the acoustic and conceptual boundary between human and machine sound, asking how electronic synthesis might be translated into the logic of the voice β and how the voice, in turn, can be reabsorbed into electronic composition. β
β
'Silencio' stages a dialogue, where oscillators and vocal cords operate within a shared harmonic and temporal field. The performance unfolds across 16 voices divided between choir and synthesis. Moving from sparse, shifting minimal structures to dense, immersive sonic choruses, Silencio explores the expressive spectrum between fragility and weight, presence and abstraction.β

At the intersection of human and electronic sound lies @moritzvonoswald's Silencio. A meditation on the sonic potentials that lie between the mechanical and the organic, the work employs a 16-voice choir and a range of classic synthesises, creating a sonic exchange that erases distinctions between acoustic and synthetic sound.
Silencio explores the dynamic interplay of silence and sound, where the absence and presence of music become equally powerful.
