What do you notice? These are 3 slides that I used in a presentation. The top one is obviously the checkpoint positions in my teaching system. The 2nd is the front page of a swing study. All of my teachers and assistants, and myself do a swing study every year on the top players in the world. We have been doing this for 36 years. Here you can see two completely different releases. Both were number one players in the world. Lots of progress this year—Annabell is currently #30 on the money list. She’s come to the Biltmore a few times in 2026. But we do our conversations mostly on text and by sending swings. I gave Annabell lessons when she was a young junior. Her sister, Mom and Dad would come to Miami for a few weeks. Annabell played her college golf at UF. These are most important concepts I teach to my better players. When you get the idea of keeping your arms in front of your chest good things happen. I’ve also loved the idea of connecting the arm movement in the backswing with the shoulder rotation. Many golfers complete their turn—but then allow the arms to run off. Their arms continue to swing (over swing). After another perfect drive—this one was long too, 330 yards in the fairway, Aaron hit a perfect 230 yard iron to 12 feet. The result was an easy 2 putt birdie to give him a 2 shot cushion. Of course he makes a 68 foot putt on the next hole for a 3 shot lead. But this shot was absolutely perfect—a high fade to a rock hard green. Aaron does a number of things that the normal teacher would change. Probably making him take off the right hand glove to start with! I pointed out a few things that deviate from the usual teaching. Most obvious is the inward extension that is a non negotiable with many teachers. Obviously Aaron does many things beautifully. He is a short hitter on the PGA tour but he is super accurate. I always look forward to my summer teaching out in Heber City, Utah. This is just down the hill from Park City Utah. Our students often stay in one of my favorite towns, Park City. The weather is just incredible and the views our second to none. You will love the golf course, but it’s a very, very tough test of golf. My job is to help you get around that course better than when you arrive. Over 3 days of training, we touch on all parts of the game. My last written post struck a chord—“Swing Your Swing” is of course the worst possible advice a chopper could ever receive. When you have “Death Moves” in your golf swing you need to be re-positioned. That seems so obvious. But many golfers just go through life with no interest in playing decent golf. I get it. The greatest teachers change the position of students who want to improve. Simple as that.
