Blood pumping, heart racing, breath holding…
Point Blank Films is the inspiration of two West Midlands brothers, bringing their experience of performing in some of the largest studio action franchises and productions, into the development of a locally homegrown action Micro-Studio out of the West Midlands.In the last 2 years, we have shot 3 PoCs, all linked to just some of the projects on our slate we want to develop. Each production was self funded, each shot in a single shoot day and at a single location.
We used what budget we had to bring the concepts to life, to find our audience, to learn more about the filmmaking process and to collaborate and develop relationships with some amazing talent that we will carry into our feature projects. Our journey towards our first feature begins here, we’ll need new collaborators and help to get there, this new trailer should give a flavour of who we are and are for. After the crash bang whallop of the first two, really wanted a performance driven third, psychological in the thrills this time around. As often is case in indie-land, it was talking about another project that led me @motzworkman who’s David Lynch style made me think he was the right guy to tackle this latest idea and I wasn’t wrong. Really enjoyed the collaboration, writing, trying to find the heart of this one with him and the balance of what’s written and what’s in the actors hands. Motz then brought Damien @damnsung on the ride who helped tie things all together in shared Director duties..and the end result will say everything for how well they did on this. We did casting for the first time on this one and man is it hard, there were a few great options all round(thanks to those who auditioned), but Jourdan @jourdanameliastorey had everyone mesmerised for her role of DI Carter and Andrew @andrewrolfeactor gave us a needed contrast to elevate the@whole piece. Our forever DoP @richardallendop and his trusty partner in crime @oliverwnewman brought us literal Caravaggio art on screen for this, with @cameronuzokatv our gaffer, @freds.notebook on sound, @frazercobbmedia on script and a host of other things..but special props go to our first ever Art Department- the genius Sean @seanpg1 and Victoria assisting brought us our 1980s set design and it was just perfect, can’t recommend everyone enough. Our forever DoP @richardallendop and his trusty partner in crime @oliverwnewman brought us literal Caravaggio art on screen for this, with @cameronuzokatv our gaffer, @freds.notebook on sound, @frazercobbmedia on script and a host of other things..but special props go to our first ever Art Department- the genius Sean @seanpg1 and Victoria assisting brought us our 1980s set design and it was just perfect, can’t recommend everyone enough. The BTS (some here) was from a photographer friend new to it but found some lovely moments @shotsby.helena We’re now in to the edit and I expect/hope this to be a laurel covered poster within months😘 Trailer and screenings to come, thanks to everyone involved for bringing their talent, time and love to this one, it will be one we’re all proud of for sure x #shortfilm

Where to begin..’The Web We’re In’
#3 from the Point Blank Films team. A short in itself destined for more festivals than we’ve tried for before, but of course it’s also a PoC, y’know the drill.
After the crash bang whallop of the first two, really wanted a performance driven third, psychological in the thrills this time around. As often is case in indie-land, it was talking about another project that led me @motzworkman who’s David Lynch style made me think he was the right guy to tackle this latest idea and I wasn’t wrong. Really enjoyed the collaboration, writing, trying to find the heart of this one with him and the balance of what’s written and what’s in the actors hands. Motz then brought Damien @damnsung on the ride who helped tie things all together in shared Director duties..and the end result will say everything for how well they did on this. We did casting for the first time on this one and man is it hard, there were a few great options all round(thanks to those who auditioned), but Jourdan @jourdanameliastorey had everyone mesmerised for her role of DI Carter and Andrew @andrewrolfeactor gave us a needed contrast to elevate the@whole piece. Just wrapped on this incredible project being brought to screens soon by Warner Bros and ESX Entertainment. Had a ball with the amazing cast and super talented crew, helmed by surely one of the nicest directors in the business. All that joy feeds the collaboration and it’ll be there for all to see and enjoy.
