Matt Terry has spent recent years shaping a sound that feels increasingly personal, playful, and authentic. With his new EP Party In My Room, he steps away from the emotional heaviness of his earlier work and embraces a more carefree, pop-driven energy inspired by happiness, friendship, and living in the moment. Drawing on K-pop production, intimate house-party memories, and his own growth, both creatively and personally, the project captures what Matt describes as “the most carefree and fun version” of himself so far. In this feature, he opens up about the inspiration behind the EP, the emotional contrasts within the tracklist, and why creating joy - rather than heartbreak - became the driving force behind this new chapter.

PARTY IN MY ROOM. THE EP. 22/05.

This is the third project I’ve put out to the world almost 10 years into my music career. I felt more free than ever creating this one and personally I think it really shows in the sound. I thank everybody involved, for all the strings we’ve pulled to make this happen independently, it’s so appreciated! To my people that continue to show up for me, I love you.
This EP is my life in audio form. Party in my room will soon be yours.
