From our childhood shenanigans to the big screen, she’s my bestie, my sister. I’m still filled with so many emotions after seeing the premiere on Thrusday at @cinemalesvarietes.marseille in our hometown.

Katy’s daily life is worlds away from the film industry, but she has a rare, breathtaking accuracy in @daolefilm. The press is raving about her and it’s no wonder. I recognise all her empathy and dignity on screen, qualities that everyone who knows her here in Marseille can vouch for.

A huge thank you to @alain.gomis.3 for his vision and for chasing Katy until she said yes! What a gift this film is! It is stunning through its cinematography and score that stay with you long after the credits roll.

While it’s a powerful story rooted in our Manjak / Guinea-Bissau community, it touches on such universal themes of family, loss, and tradition that it connects to everyone, no matter where they are from.

Africa fashion arrives in Paris. March 31st @quaibranly

A fond memory from my time as Creative Director @nataalmedia - In 2021, the V&A invited us and to contribute editorially and visually to Africa Fashion — a landmark exhibition celebrating the vitality and global influence of African fashion from the 1950s to today.

We created a marketing campaign and a film, « Who Dey Shake », directed by Lakin Ogunbanwo which is part of the exhibition, alongside a dedicated section in our print issue 3.

The show opened in London in July 2022 and toured the world. Brooklyn Museum. Portland. Melbourne. Montréal. Now Paris.

Grateful to curator Dr @checinskachristine , the V&A team, my Nataal teammates and every contributor. I’m proud of what we made together. This one belongs to all of us.
