Our piece «Speculative Evolution, Prototype 1» is part of the exhibition "QUBIT AI" @filefestival in São Paulo running until August 25th.

«Speculative Evolution, Prototype 1» imagines a speculative ecosystem 30 years from now, where artificial intelligence and biotechnologies work together to create and optimize species to withstand the increasingly hostile environment. You are invited to create new variations of animals, fungi, plants and robots and to fly with them through a speculative ecosystem from the perspective of an AI agent. The project aims to inspect our tendency to simplify complex ecosystems by treating nature as a system that can be fixed.

📹 Vides by: @hyhsara & @biiisco 🙏 thank you so much for that!!

📡 «Mundo expandido. Entre o físico e o virtual»

NOW OPEN | DOOM TIME – Doomscrolling, negative bias and social consequences at EIGENHEIM Weimar @galerieeigenheim (15 March - 25 April 2026).

Participating artists Anna Bittersohl, Aram Barthol @aramldn , Simon Baumgart, Jonas Blume, Benedikt Braun, Elisa Jule Braun, Paolo Cirio, Ben Grosser, Esra Gülmen, Susanne Junker, Philipp Kummer, Marc Lee @marcleeio, Kayla Mattes, Signe Pierce @signepierce , Theresa Rothe, Michal Schmidt, Stefan Schiek.

📍EIGENHEIM Weimar, Asbachstraße 1, 99423 Weimar

The exhibition DOOM TIME marks the opening of the annual programme dedicated to confidence, positivity, and collective joy. It positions itself as a deliberate analysis of the present moment and examines the social conditions under which a positive annual theme today appears not naïve but necessary – as a stance in response to populism, increasing polarization and the political instrumentalization of information. At the same time, the exhibition points to the significant addictive potential inherent in social media and highlights how profoundly digital platforms shape our communication, attention, and public perception.

At the centre of the exhibition are the mechanisms of doomscrolling and negative bias – phenomena that shape our perception, emotional states, and ultimately public discourse. The participating artistic positions explore how digital information flows, social media environments, and algorithmic logics influence the ways we think and feel. In doing so, the exhibition reveals that platforms are far from neutral: they reflect economic and political power structures, amplify polarization, and shape democratic public spheres worldwide. At the same time, individual media consumption appears closely linked to questions of responsibility, trust, and education. The exhibition highlights how strongly we tend to privilege negative information over positive – and how social media and information platforms deliberately exploit this bias to maximize attention.

So happy - after three years of intensive collaboration, we finally exhibited “Losing Oneself – Voices from the Deep Sea” for the first time at @hek_basel basement!

Losing Oneself imagines a speculative reversal: deep-sea organisms reuse human AI to observe humanity from the abyss. From the depths, a synthetic swarm reflects back our behaviors, contradictions, and vulnerabilities.
AI is repositioned as a relational agent, inviting us to explore collective consciousness and rethink coexistence — not through exploitation, but as a practice rooted in ecological care, interdependence, and equality.

Thank you for this great collaboration and all the fun we had @malena_souto_arena , Shervin Saremi, and Annie James!

Speculative Evolution di Marc Lee in collaborazione con Shervin Saremi (sound)
Other Intelligences - a MEET fino a gennaio 2026
