Envisioned & formulated by our distiller @nicolasmcmorris, this unique rum liqueur pays homage to his ancestry and the warmth of Persian culture. Much like Persian cuisine, Taarof bursts with flavors that are both exotic and familiar, and utterly dazzling. Fragrant rose petals, mint & coriander meld with potent spices like sumac, clove, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, and black pepper, plus saffron & pomegranate, for a transportive spirit that we can't wait to share with you!

2013: that first batch was so tiny it could barely be called a batch; 30 bottles or so, poured with a pitcher & a funnel, labeled with extreme excitement, and sold to the handful of curious locals and visitors that wandered in. i knew we were making history, but i never could've predicted what would follow >> hundreds of thousands of bottles made from 🇺🇸 sugarcane, endless advocacy to change antiquated laws and regulations, accolades & awards 🥇, exciting expansions & unforeseen challenges, and over a dozen years of delighting & surprising everyone we meet with a stellar rum experience ✨

i am incredibly proud that every drop of LYON RUM is still 💯 cane-to-glass, and still made in ridiculously small batches, by an eternally changing, but always remarkable crew, who infuses everything with passion, love & dedication here in saint michaels 💪

special shout out to @tinyboozecat who has been in it to win it with me from the very beginning 👯‍♀️

and to our head distiller @almost_icarus for relentless attention to detail and an unparalleled love for rum & spirits education.

and where would we be without @nicolasmcmorris coming in for the early shift all these years, starting rum fermentations hours before the rest of the world wakes up?

and our rumrunner extraordinaire @6rika who transitions seamlessly from distilling to sales to deliveries 🚚 and charms and delights everyone she meets ✨

@wabuxton keeps us on track and makes sure all the rum goes in the bottles and helps @hiptospace & @bbrutz fill & label with precision 👌
