Our mutual aid group has been working overtime as needs have been coming in more than ever. We are low on funds. Low on supplies. But we are not low on the energy needed to put into community. We hustle everyday. Yesterday we were able to fill up the break room of a local Lakewood car wash with food, hygiene items and diapers. Business has been slow as prices are rising and people are struggling. EVERYONE deserves fresh food, proper hygiene supplies and basic care. We at Lbrr mutual aid are always on a mission to supply that. Please know we always take donations. Money, food, men’s clothing, feminine and other hygiene products, baby supplies. You can donate money or you can reach out to arrange a pick up or drop off of food donations. But it’s up to ALL OF US to keep each other safe. Not just a small handful of humans but ALL OF US! So grab an extra box of ramen at your next shopping trip- that’ll supply a snack or warm breakfast for our friends at the local Home Depot. Our mutual aid pantry is empty due to a large amount of requests lately. On January 26, 2026, Jose Luis was racially profiled and kidnapped by CBP on his way home to his family while riding his bike. He has been at Adelanto while his family was left behind broken hearted and left with a mountain of financial challenges and uncertainty. On May 26th, Jose Luis was able to win his Habeas Corpus petition with the help of a dedicated attorney @immdef_lawcenter and the USC law school program.Unfortunately, his bail was set at 20K. Our tiny group volunteers searched all week for bond relief and were not able to find any. The family was forced to take out an emergency loan from a bail bondsmen to secure his freedom before risking an appeal from DHS.
Jose Luis' fight is far from over. He left Adelanto wearing the same clothes they took him in, carrying the same backpack, and an ankle monitor placed on him. He has to secure an attorney before his next hearing to fight his removal case. He won't be allowed to work during this entire process. We ask our community members to share his story and GoFundMe.
