Once an architectural designer, Wenhui Lim is now a well-known digital artist: niceaunties. Her surreal, speculative universe reimagines the Asian cultural figure of the ‘auntie’, creating a new place for these misunderstood figures - aunts, but also neighbours and invisible characters - in digital culture.
Step inside the auntieverse at Sónar+D 2026 on Thursday 18th June when she appears for a special lecture at Llotja de Mar.
And remember you can also visit her exhibition ‘auntiescapes’ at @load.gallery in Barcelona until the 15th August.

Thank you to everyone who joined us throughout the opening weekend and brought such warmth, curiosity, and energy into the space. It was a pleasure to see visitors engaging so openly with the works and conversations unfolding around the show.
At the center of the exhibition, “Mirror Into Auntieverse” became a gathering point throughout the opening weekend. The interactive installation documents the auntie love language of our times. Through humour, reflection, and participation, the work transforms the space into a collective experience filled with laughter, movement, and unexpected conversations.
The exhibition runs until 15 August at @load.gallery . Come experience the world of auntiescapes from Thursday to Saturday, 4–8 pm.

niceaunties - Auntiescapes

auntiescapes by niceaunties @niceaunties, 7 May-15 August 2026
“I approach the body as a living landscape. Skin behaves like terrain, continuously renewing, hosting microorganisms, and responding to cycles much like the Earth itself. Flesh becomes geological, layered with memory and time, while emotions move through the body like natural forces, building, dissolving, and reshaping what we feel and see. This reflects an understanding of the body as inseparable from its environment, challenging the illusion of separation between self and world.”

Load is pleased to announce Auntiescapes, a solo show by niceaunties. Auntiescapes explores the body as a living landscape, a terrain that renews, remembers, and responds to unseen forces. Building on earlier investigations into beauty, skin, and societal expectation, the works turn inward to examine how energy, emotion, and cultural conditioning inscribe themselves onto the physical self.

Load Gallery and The AI Art Magazine come together for Global Fusion Barcelona, a one‑day gathering to celebrate Issue No. 3: SPATIAL INTELLIGENCE—synthetic horizon. The new edition explores space as something to be felt, read, and re‑imagined–not a backdrop, but a living system that thinks and responds with us. At Load, these ideas move from paper onto a hybrid screen architecture and become something to watch, share, and talk about side by side.
Across the afternoon, curated screening blocks and short talks invite you to get absorbed in works and meet the artists who shape the issue. It is a slow Sunday with still, moving, and spatial images and a moment to be together and to enjoy Barcelona’s spring in good company.

Last chance to see: Paramnésico by Desilence
This week is the final opportunity to visit the solo exhibition by Desilence. We would like to warmly thank the artists for their trust, as well as everyone who joined us over the course of the exhibition.
The exhibition ends on Saturday, 25 April. The gallery will be closed for installation until 7 May.

“Each of these pieces is a moment from a dream. For example, one of the dreams was that I was in the middle of the forest, and the trees were falling and dissolving. I think the fact that we are living in the forest is very important, as we are nature lovers and it gave us a lot of inspiration and guided us.”

Coming to @offfest ? Add Load to your agenda!
Just a short walk from @dissenyhub, Load is currently hosting Paramnésico, a solo exhibition by @desilence_ , a rare opportunity to experience their work outside of immersive and performative contexts, in a more intimate gallery format. Rooted in abstract painting, their work unfolds as a kind of visual alchemy: shifting forms, dissolving landscapes, and images that seem a dream residue, never quite coming to a resolution.
On 19 April, we will join @the.ai.art.magazine to celebrate the launch of its third issue at the gallery. Join us for screenings, talks, and informal exchange. The full program is available on luma. Sign up to attend through the link in bio!
