But if you’ve ever opened a bag, you’d know how massive they are. They’re plump, and with dehydration, they don’t always hold that perfect “whole sardine” form that we aim to achieve.

This small business journey has always been about trial and error for us. We’re a tiny team doing our best, but a lot of what we do comes from learning, adjusting, and continuing to improve along the way. Sometimes something works, sometimes it shows us there’s a better way; and we’re always chasing that better. So we made the switch.

We’re now freeze-drying our whole sardines to keep them exactly how they should be—whole, plump, and beautiful. It’s the same fish you love, just preserved in a way that better maintains their structure and nutrients.

They may look bigger and more full, but freeze-dried sardines are actually lighter in weight since the moisture is gently removed without heat. This process helps preserve their integrity and quality, while also requiring more raw fish per bag to achieve the same finished weight.

This small business journey has always been about trial and error for us. We’re a tiny team doing our best, but a lot of what we do comes from learning, adjusting, and continuing to improve along the way. Sometimes something works, sometimes it shows us there’s a better way; and we’re always chasing that better. So we made the switch.

We’re now freeze-drying our whole sardines to keep them exactly how they should be—whole, plump, and beautiful. It’s the same fish you love, just preserved in a way that better maintains their structure and nutrients.

They may look bigger and more full, but freeze-dried sardines are actually lighter in weight since the moisture is gently removed without heat. This process helps preserve their integrity and quality, while also requiring more raw fish per bag to achieve the same finished weight.
