My boyfriend Marco Polos me last night and he’s like, I know I’m not your publicist, but have you considered putting your Substack on main grid? Because you should, so people can share it and know about it and share it and so on, because people should be reading it. And I’m like, yeah, cool, that’s really sweet of you to think, but I don’t post on main grid anymore because there’s a caption section that requires filling and I love words too much, it’ll take me all day and I could’ve spent that time writing, and anyway, the whole point is to get people to read my writing somewhere else because I’m so over this flash-in-pan attention span thing, like, can’t you just do it? I know you’re not my publicist. Well, I guess I am. Yeah, I want people to read it, obviously, and I would really love it if people would share it, because it’s amazing, right, I can feel like I deserve to be buried alive for what I’m saying sometimes, or at least shut into a cave hooked up with a stove and a kettle, but then people read it to. the. end. - AMAZING - and they reach out, like, old fashioned, pick up their thumbs and march them into my DMs, your essay meant this to me, I struggle with this, too, which tells me a lot of people, like, more than just you and my mom (who really liked my last one, did I tell you that? I’ll have to read you her comment), are into it. I should really figure out how to promote it someday, I know, I know. If the dream is to be a writer it’d help to have readers. I’ll just keep it short and dumb, if people look, it’ll be cool, but my feelings won’t be hurt. What do you think?
