I was lucky enough to do a studio visit of a local Brooklyn-based sculptor, Daisuke Kiyomiya. I have followed him and his work for a couple of years now after seeing his artwork in the Gowanus Open Studios show and have been wanting to document him ever since. After finally mustering up the courage to reach out, he replied and graciously accepted for me to come photograph him and his work.

I always find it rewarding to photograph other artists and talk about what inspires and motivates them. Even more so when your own philosophy is very similar to those you’re documenting.
