Join us for the fourth session of the 𝙎𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝙇𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 – 𝙇𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙭 𝙈𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 at Friday 14 November. This fall, @memoriaslatinx has been in residence at BAK Basecamp.  In partnership with @Papaya Kuir and migrant/asylum-seeking communities in the Netherlands, the Laboratory explores 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿, discovering the possibilities that embodied practice can create to reclaim agency amid political, social, economic crises. 

The Laboratory focuses on 𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶-𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀, through somatics as lived, relational, and political: how movement, breath, sensation, and relational awareness can restore vital connections—to self, to others—and open spaces for alternative futures. 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆, 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

These workshops are open to latin american migrants and refugees, global majority migrants, and allies.

We warmly invite 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀, 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀, 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲-𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 to join as participants, co-creators, or witnesses—helping shape what emerges in this season of embodied inquiry.

The Laboratory focuses on 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢-𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬, through somatics as lived, relational, and political: how movement, breath, sensation, and relational awareness can restore vital connections—to self, to others—and open spaces for alternative futures. Memory, affect, and resurgent care remain central to collective transformation. 

This fall, 𝐟𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐬 will be offered, open to latin american migrants and refugees, global majority migrants, and allies. Sessions will be 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐥 (Spanish/English) and include: 

* Somatic workshops & sessions: Movement, breathwork, touch-based practices, sound and listening exercises, relational experiments of repair, fostering community engagement.  
* Zine-making: A collective reflection and creative response to the season’s practices. 

We warmly invite artists, activists, scholars, care-workers, and community members to 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬, 𝐜𝐨-𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬, 𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬—helping shape what emerges in this season of embodied inquiry.

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗟𝗮𝗯 – 𝗟𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘅 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 warmly invites you to a special open session, welcoming participants of the regular lab alongside a broader community of practitioners, artists, researchers, of ATD and members of the LGBTQ+ and migrant communities. Rooted in an intersectional and collaborative pedagogy, the lab centers the lived experiences of Latinx migrants and asylum seekers in the Netherlands. It approaches the politics of care, migration, and embodied memory through an eco-somatic lens.

This session offers a space to reconnect with our bodies as vessels of memory, resistance, and collective knowledge. Through hands-on practices involving touch, movement, voice, and sound, we will explore how stories—both personal and communal—are embedded within us, emerging through the body as pathways to regenerate, re-imagine and transform.

Facilitated by 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗮 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿𝗼, 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹𝗮 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝗷𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮 𝗢𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘇, this bilingual workshop creates a welcoming space for listening, remembering, and co-creating stories beyond words. No prior experience is required, and all bodies and backgrounds are welcome.

We will conclude the session with a shared dinner—a moment to gather, reflect, and continue the conversation. Bring comfortable clothes to move, sweat and lay down.

"Sonic Feminist Fabulations (SFF) is a live radio performance that explores the poetics and politics of displacement and diasporic (ecological) memories. Conceived as a long-form research platform, it responds to radio’s unique ability to stretch and compress spacetime, connecting with invisible listeners across perception thresholds. Through live performances, experimental electronic music, archival recordings, and digital/analog media interplay, SFF bridges proximity and distance, offering vibrational experiences for both in-situ and remote audiences.
For this upcoming edition of Onsite- OnAir Festival, I would like to propose a live electronics performance that invites us to engage with the spatial, affective and material conditions of listening through a site-responsive sonic installation/sculptural format. By working with electromagnetic fields, radio waves, organic materials, and bodily memory, I will explore how the haptic-acoustic qualities of sound can contribute to reorient reception and transmission as a relational and non-linear embodied act.
Following physical responses to noise and altered spatial perception, this performance explores sound as a tangible, somatic, and speculative form, expanding into sonic-political imagination & facilitating an exchange between cellular and non-cellular bodies. It raises questions such as: What does it mean for resonant materials to exist in a flesh-to-flesh (membranic) relationship? How do these intra-actions reshape perception, presence, and agency? And how sonic-spatial imagination can extend into the creation of social sculptures that influence collective listening and emancipatory knowledge?" #liveradio #liveperformance #displacement #ecology

Este sábado 17 de Mayo te invitamos a una sesión especial del Laboratorio Somático - Memorias Latinx, donde exploraremos juntes la escucha, el cuerpo, la vibración y la arcilla como territorios vivos de memoria kuir y migrante.

La sesión será facilitada por @bravolinabrav0 y @la___monte, quienes nos guiarán en un trabajo colectivo con barro, activando la tierra como portadora de memorias ancestrales, desplazamientos y migraciones. Una invitación a escuchar con las manos, el barro y la voz, habitando la fragilidad, la resistencia y la potencia de nuestros cuerpos-territorios.

The third edition of @sound_arguments will start soon. Let’s meet some of the twenty-five multidisciplinary sound practitioners who will be together throughout four months of activities!

Paula Montecinos Oliva (CL) @la___monte is an artist and researcher based in the Netherlands. With a background in choreography, somatic education, and sound art, she explores body-haptics and the intersections of agency, memory, and collectivity. Her transdisciplinary practice spans live electronic performance, experimental vocals, radio broadcasts, and immersive sonic choreography, investigating frequency, resonance, and latency as spatiotemporal materials that shape experience.
She engages in experimental luthiery, handcrafting lo-fi devices, antennas, synthesizers, microphones, and speaker-instruments to research electromagnetic fields, spatialized sound, and the politics of noise. In recent years, she has deepened her inquiry into listening as an emancipatory and fabulative experience, focusing on frequencies that move the body and within it.
She initiated Sonic Feminist Fabulations (SFF), a research platform that through performative radio broadcasts, aims to foster long-form collaborations and disrupt linear-colonial narratives through sonic practice. Her work has been presented internationally at venues such as Worm (NL), Tsunami Editorial (CL), Sonic Matter Festival (CH), Transmediale (DE), Sonic Acts - Night Air (NL) & HKW (DE).
