WELCOME TO WORM…
In case you did not know, we are WORM, an independent and forward-thinking arts venue that has a unique and contrary presence in Rotterdam.
We house music, film, club, art, talk, community and performance programs. Approximately 500 activities every year. And with 140+ active radio makers and many small-scale community projects continually working in the building, it is almost impossible to fully encompass what WORM is.
The unique composition of our organisation hosts @radio.worm @soundstudio.worm
@wunderbar.rotterdam with @dailyfresh_rotterdam and @filmwerkplaats
See it for yourself, at WORM.

This Friday we will be speaking with a cult star. No, not Franky Sticks, Gyatso or Jeff Solo: but DJ Diaki Official from Mali. Nyege Nyege is bringing one of the heaviest line-ups to Rotterdam at WORM, which should be your go-to place if we want to live up to our title as the raw metropolis on the Maas.
Nyege Nyege is one of the most exciting things to happen in music in recent years: the kind of movement that literally shakes the ground beneath your feet. Thanks to Fred, this beautifully balanced line-up of local talent and heroes of the African continent are finally coming together here, after jumping through endless visa procedures and bureaucratic loopholes just to make it to Rotterdam.
We’ve had a soft spot for DJ Diaki for a while now. After he previously hosted Rwina at MONO and appeared during New Radicalisms two years ago, we’re excited to welcome him back for a stop at the moezeumcafé. This time not primarily for his wild musical skills, but to talk about another equally impressive project: building his own radio station in Mali.
Diaki will guide us through the socio-cultural and political context of Mali, the importance of an independent radio station, and the opportunities and challenges involved in creating one. Joined by longtime friend Cheb Runner as translator, and moderated by the wonderful Epifania.
Before and after the talk, local talents Gqommando and Raven will set the mood with some seriously good sounds ahead of this beautiful line-up.

SATURDAY 2 MAY 06:00 - SUNDAY 3 MAY 05:00 → On Dawn Chorus Day, Reveil will make its thirteenth annual day-long loop of earth, travelling west on live audio feeds sent in by streamers around sunrise.
Reveil brings us together at a distance around its ephemeral streams from rural and urban places – birds, amphibians, weather and sounds we cannot identify. We have heard from some listening points for a decade. Others not yet. Each stream adds to the detail and diversity of the work.
REVEIL 13 will be mixed by invited guests and members of the Soundcamp Cooperative. REVEIL is assembled at Stave Hill Ecological Park (TCV) in London from 05:00 UTC+1 on Saturday 2 to 06:00 on Sunday 3 May 2026. Reveil 13 is supported by the creative technical network of the Acoustic Commons including: Full Of Noises, Locus Sonus, CONA, HMU, Cyberforest.
Soundcamp is a collaborative project organised by the Soundcamp cooperative. For details: soundtent.orgImage: Sam Baraitser-Smith

FRIDAY 1 MAY, 16:00-17:00 → What sounds are we exposed to at work? How do they shape our listening, our bodies, and our days?
This International Workers’ Day, Precarious Listening presents a one-hour special broadcast sharing materials from an ongoing open call by Ale Borea and the World Listening Project. The open call gathers recordings, voice notes, written reflections, auditory memories, complaints, and everyday traces of listening under conditions of labour.
This broadcast brings together background, repetitive, imposed, and exhausting sounds not as isolated events, but as ongoing conditions that accumulate over time.

Last weekend we attended Roadburn - a festival in Tilburg that showcases heaviness but redefines what this word means - from walls of noise, to tearful acoustic performances, we felt completely immersed and embraced by the community and care for the artists, audiences and for music itself.
We are having two episodes on the special series ‘Radio WORM goes to’ covering this experience.
Tuesday 28th April - Episode 1: yearning with the audience
Thursday 30th April - Episode 2: Interview with Becky Laverty ( @beckylaverty )
A special thanks to Ash, Radio WORM for this opportunity and Walter, Becky and the whole roadburn team for this incredible festival. 🩷
xx,
y.e.a.r.n.

Sofia Underground Radio — Live Broadcast
On the 24th of April, Sofia Underground International Performance Art Festival goes on air.
From OKI Krasno Selo in Sofia, Viktoria Nikolova will open a three-hour live broadcast – a radio transmission rooted in the performances, conversations, and sounds of this year's festival edition. Artists' interviews, music played, and presence carried through the frequency to whoever is listening.
There is something particular about live radio – the knowledge that somewhere, thousands of kilometres away, someone is sitting in the same moment as you. Not a recording, not a replay. The same breath, the same now. For three hours, Sofia and Rotterdam will share a frequency, and the underground will become audible beyond its walls.
And yes – a worm has found its way underground. Radio Worm from Rotterdam joins as co-presenter, because apparently, the underground is exactly where worms belong.
Sofia Underground Radio is a new broadcast project growing out of the festival – a first transmission and a beginning of many more.
When: Day 3 - Friday 24 April / 20:00–23:00 Sofia / 19:00–22:00 CET
📍Where: OKI Krasno Selo, Sofia
Tune in at: radio.worm.org
Presented by Viktoria Nikolova in co-production with Sofia Underground Festival, Synaesthesia Collective and Radio Worm, Rotterdam.

Next Tuesday on April 28th, UTS brings together voices from the International Writers Collective for an evening of poetry exploring memory, womanhood, rituals, (be)longing, and the lives we carry beneath the surface.
Featuring poetry and curated tunes from:
Sandra Ramzy @sandramzy
Christina Markanastasakis
Madalé Albasini
Mattea Dugonjic @dugiooo
We’ll be live 5–7pm on @radio.worm 🪱
Don’t miss it
