Join us for RASA - In Conversation with Javed Akhtar, Shovana Narayan, Sumantra Ghosal
Moderated by Rama Pandey
INTACH Greater Mumbai Chapter, in Collaboration with Prime Securities, Trigen Wealth and G5A, invites you to a conversation that places the concept of Rasa - the theory of emotion, and Dhvani - the theory of form, not as academic concepts, but as lived experience.
This program is the third in our ongoing series reaffirming INTACH Greater Mumbai Chapter’s commitment to the performing arts and the Natyashastra.
Across poetry, Kathak and cinema, our speakers have each, in their distinct ways, spent a lifetime in dialogue with these foundational ideas.
Through this conversation, we open the floor to explore how these ideas breathe into their practice. How do they shape their relationship with audiences? How was a globalised contemporary socio-cultural landscape shifted, challenged or deepened their engagement with these ideas?
We hope this conversation is as much a revelation for you, the audience, as it is a reflection for the artist and their creations.
Looking forward to seeing you at the program.
This is by invitation only.

A Sunday morning well spent. Celebrating the upcoming World Heritage Day on April 18, we launched Flyovers & Potholes, our very own board game with a Mumbai twist, and we’re thrilled to share that it was a full house! We were absolutely delighted to have Dr. Pheroza J. Godrej and Shaina NC as our chief guests.
Shaina shared insights into the ongoing efforts to make Mumbai pothole-free, joking that perhaps one day we’ll need to update the game and remove the potholes altogether! She also highlighted how the Government, BMC, and INTACH could collaborate to improve the city through conservation.
Dr. Pheroza Godrej took us on a fascinating journey through India’s ancient board games like Moksha Patam and Gyan Baazi, which inspired our game. She even encouraged everyone to swap Mahjong nights for games like ours.
The game’s designer and Mumbai Chapter’s Co-Convenor, Rajul Dhaimade, shared how the idea evolved over months of thought, creativity, and passion before transforming into the game we see today.
The reveal was followed by an engaging talk by Ashwini Gawli on ancient games of India, she also got some old games that were played. There was lots of fun, laughter, and of course… gameplay! Guests rolled the dice, played enthusiastically, and won exciting goodies including helmets by Tvaraa!
And what’s a Mumbai morning without chai & vada pav? Safe to say, hot cutting chai and spicy vada pav were a BIG hit!
All in all, great vibes, great people, and a whole lot of fun.
P.S. We have only a limited number of game sets left, secure yours soon before they’re all gone! Order your game on 8087773299.
