This was a cool project where we did two passes on the film scan. One clean, and one after bleach and dirt damage. The result was awesome. Paired with in camera multiple exposures, the creative result was something really special!
This video is a combination of color negative 16mm and color positive 8mm! In this world where we chase the highest resolution captures and visual effects, it’s nice to see some real creativity. The Citnel scanner might not be the highest resolution scanner, but it offers a unique color science that you don’t really get so see since most of the labsyoutake your film to scan using the same Scanity or Arri scan system. I believe you should treat scanners like cameras. Each scanner is going to give you a different result, and I think the Cintel is giving a unique look to film scans.
