So refreshing—and eye opening—to see raw, open ocean in motion with waterpeople of all walks surfing endless waves. 32 miles of 5-7ft swell with 25mph trade winds, and the guy adds another notch in his badass paddling belt in 3hrs 45mins.

But best of all, experiences like these extend far beyond stats and standings. The race alone is a sight to behold, but it always comes back to the people, the culture, and the energy—the Mana—as they say.
