my denim collection from the Queer Bodies runway show, thanks to much to @aqueencalledopium and @sam.barley.creative for having me it was such an honour to be asked!

while studying a boring maths degree at uni i secretly taught myself how to sew in my room for a laugh & it has become the thing that brings me the most joy, my favourite thing to do is to sit and sew for ages it's literally when im happiest, without having all the proper teaching i often feel like my sewing isn't good enough so it was very validating to be asked for this & im proud of what i made

& massive massive thanks to my models for trusting me, you all slayed & were the best people for the job for sure✨️ @itsbiptyp literally one of the best drag queens ever, she always has impeccable style & i knew she'd walk fiercely & be a crowd-pleaser on the runway✨️ @gobixgobig a literal model, she's spent years perfecting her makeup artistry & always generously shares it with others, the least i could do was put her ona runway where she belongs✨️ @itschaitea the ultimate diva, one of the most creative people ever i knew she'd appreciate and be able to sellany crazy design i threw at her✨️ @_jesshx_ this one is so charismatic and stylish, for Queer Bodies i didn't want to limit myself to just drags, she's just started her sewing journey and we've sewn lots of pleated denim together so i knew this would be right up her street, she's always wearing insane fun things & i knew she'd be perfect for a whimsical design so i dressed her as a denim flower

for this collection i chose to exclusively use denim as a challenge to myself as i haven't used it much before, i wanted to challenge myself to make avant-garde silhouettes, & i used rigid denim as i knew it can create a lot of volume, i was inspired by denim in y2k red carpet outfits & used a lot of recycled fabric from old denim clothes (mainly thanks to @itsbiptyp )

& massive massive thanks to my models for trusting me, you all slayed & were the best people for the job for sure✨️ @itsbiptyp literally one of the best drag queens ever, she always has impeccable style & i knew she'd walk fiercely & be a crowd-pleaser on the runway✨️ @gobixgobig a literal model, she's spent years perfecting her makeup artistry & always generously shares it with others, the least i could do was put her ona runway where she belongs✨️ @itschaitea the ultimate diva, one of the most creative people ever i knew she'd appreciate and be able to sellany crazy design i threw at her✨️ @_jesshx_ this one is so charismatic and stylish, for Queer Bodies i didn't want to limit myself to just drags, she's just started her sewing journey and we've sewn lots of pleated denim together so i knew this would be right up her street, she's always wearing insane fun things & i knew she'd be perfect for a whimsical design so i dressed her as a denim flower

for this collection i chose to exclusively use denim as a challenge to myself as i haven't used it much before, i wanted to challenge myself to make avant-garde silhouettes, & i used rigid denim as i knew it can create a lot of volume, i was inspired by denim in y2k red carpet outfits & used a lot of recycled fabric from old denim clothes (mainly thanks to @itsbiptyp )

CHOSEN FAMILY 🦄 🩷

Before I even entered this competition, I knew I wanted to make it to the final so that I could use the Boulevard stage to tell my story. To bare my heart and soul to a scene who made me who I am, and at the Drag Idol Newcastle final, I did just that with a song I knew I'd use since I heard it.

To everyone who's expressed love for me these last 6 weeks and afterwards, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. My relationship with my family, with my culture and with drag may be complicated, but that night I had my chosen family there on stage with me, in the audience and beyond.

This is who I am, and why I am. If you wonder why I seem comfortable on a mic, why I milk an applause, why I strut a runway, it's because I'm just having fun. In the stage on my heels.

It's where I belong.
