Thanks to everyone who has been listening to “Proof, or” so far, and to those who engaged and shared their thoughts with me, it means a lot.
I don’t usually write about my work in this way, but I wanted to share a few words about the making of this album.
This album was written somewhere between 2021-2023, during what turned out to be the last year of my mother’s life. After her passing, I wasn’t able to return to finish what I had started. These tracks became, and in some ways still are, an open wound.
I tried a few times to come back to the material, but couldn’t. A distance began to grow between me and the music, I started to feel like the work was too dramatic and too emotionally driven.
Only after the birth of Asia did something shift. I felt I had to reopen these compositions and try, as much as I could, while raising a newborn, to complete them, and to set myself a challenge of letting go, mainly from my self-judgment.
So here it is, an imperfect album, released against my own doubts. I am happy to see that it resonates with so many people, and that it gained its own meaning in the outer world, detached from my personal insecurities.
So again, thank you for listening and huge thanks to the people involved in the creation of this album:

Today IMMA shares their second single ‘sorry song’ from their forthcoming debut ‘words don’t come easy’, coming out October 10.
‘sorry song’ was the first composition that IMMA wrote together, representing a distilled expression of their sonic language, as it floats in a violet haze of shoegaze and post-punk sensibilities, woven together through just intonation harmonies and spectral sound design, becoming the defining fingerprint of the duo debut release.
