TC magic = bikes + great folks. Sure, it’s a race… but it’s also a rolling party in the woods with 100+ new friends and some of the best views out there. Those bright larches and endless ridge lines of this year’s race. 🫨
Big thanks to @vavehealth for sponsoring the TC backcountry medical team and equipping them with advanced ultrasound tools in the backcountry.

Thanks for taking me out for some fresh air @stuartmaxwell82 and @khemrajrajesh. Slow and steady

Finally got discharged and made it home. Now under the care of nurse Debra. So grateful to be on the healing side of this event getting better each day. I’m touched by the outpouring of love and can’t wait to see each and everyone in real life and give you a real hug. Thanks 🙏🏼 ❤️❤️❤️

Wow what a wild week. Went from alive to dead to on the edge of death to kinda stable to very stable to moving out of th ICU to my own regular hospital room.I can’t tell you how much it means to have all the love sent from every which way.Thank you so much for your love and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 truly humbled and grateful. Love you all❤️❤️❤️🩹. (Only professional correct medical terminology was used in this post)

Not what I thought was in the cards for 2025, but you have to deal with what you’re dealt.
Tuesday night I wasn’t feel well and Debra took me to the emergency room ( aka saved my life). While in the waiting room I went into cardiac arrest. The cpr broke several ribs and contusions in my lungs. After 3 shocks with the defibrillator, I was back in action enough to send me to Cath lab where I was stable but in critical condition. They placed a stent in my artery (called the widow maker) that opened the 100% blockage and placed an Impella pump from my femeral artery. Unfortunately that kept slipping so out with that and in with a bigger Impella pump through the armpit. That worked and stabilized my heart and I didn’t need open heart surgery ( yeahhhh) The rest of Wednesday I spent intubated and hooked up to many machines. On Thursday, I got the tube out. When I came to they asked me if I knew what happened and I said bike accident. It turns out that’s my default answer.
Impella finally came out Friday and they started taking more things off of me. Saturday is the first day that I can remember being present and aware and alive. I’m slowly getting better andhopefully get to move out of the ICU soon and start the road to recovery. I am so grateful for the outpouring of love from friends as they found out.If you made it this far, then you are probably one of those friends that I love and cherish. I can’t wait to see you all and I’m ready to take advantage of my new lease on life.
Thanks for saving my life Debra
