Why don’t we just wait here for a little while…see what happens.

Great event. Nice iob @hollywoodtheatr you pulled it off. Looking forward to more 100 year bday festivities you have planned this year!

I haven’t been here since they moved about a year ago. Their fixtures are up, shelves are stocked, and there are stacks of books everywhere. There’s a system of sorts, but it’s a bit random, which makes it all the better for exploring. Caught an impromptu piano performance while I was there.

Stayed at an Airbnb that had two stacks of Horizon magazines sitting on a low shelf. The beautiful earth tone color palette spines with gold debossed titles caught my eye. I’d never heard of it before. Horizon – A Magazine of the Arts, was a bi-monthly hardback published from 1958 -1989 with most of these issues being from the late 50s to early 70s. I poured through the collection. The books had wonderful covers and were filled with great articles, clever page layouts, artwork, photography, and typography. They were fantastic.

Came across a glow-in-the-dark marching band practicing in the park tonight.

Driven by these in my neighborhood for years and always meant to stop and experience them up close. Walked over on Christmas Day to do exactly that. Their sizes, variety, and arrangement are truly fantastic. Talked with the creator out in front of his house for a bit as we compared stories and shared acknowledging nods about our respective displays. ✨🔮🎅🏻✨

I visited @the.northpoleateaglecrest in Newberg this evening. It has always a favorite experience of mine and to be honest, should be on way more local holiday must-see lists. Their collection of Christmas animatronic characters is incredibly charming, offering a nostalgic look back to days of department store window scenes – scenes that have also inspired how I share my own seasonal collection.
.
At The North Pole at Eagle Crest, there are animatronic carolers, reindeer, elves, and Santas. There’s even a real Santa thrown in the mix every night (you can try to figure out which is which). Also available is complimentary hot chocolate, while over the weekend a fire truck out front will be cooking up wood-fired pizzas.
.
This is the last weekend they are open, with a special bonus two hours on Christmas Eve! Get out there and marvel at all the magic.

To the customer purchasing a full-size tree at the Broadway Fred Meyer self-checkout tonight: you rock! ✨🎄✨

UPDATE DEC 14, 2025:
25 more puzzles hit @musicmillennium and that’s the last of them. Get some while they last!
.
Thank you to everyone that ordered puzzles this year, they will be shipping out this week! I’m looking forward to hearing what people think of them. I think they turned out quite nice. I hope they are more challenging than my clone clues were for some this year. 😏
.
@portlandpuzzle had an overrun, allowing extras to be made available to those that might’ve missed out. A number of puzzles have been dropped off over at @musicmillennium on 32nd and East Burnside and will be available while supplies last!
.
I appreciate all the enthusiasm and support we received for this project. And thanks Lyn and Stephen, whose dining room table is stacked high with shrink-wrapped puzzles, for making it all happen! @stephenhsasser

CLONE CLUES 2025
ILLUMINATED DAILY 4:00pm -11:00pm
DECEMBER 4th - JANUARY 1st
.
They’re all out there! I went back to basics this year with the set up. Don’t let that fool you, it still takes forever to set up over 400 little santas all in one group. I think it’s worth it though.
.
I’m going to try something different here. This account will get only ONE CLUE. If you solve it with only that, nice going! If you need more, I’ll post the rest of the clues on @thesantaclones. I also brought back haikus. Hai-clues?
.
Where cola once flowed,
the plant all but forgotten,
yet left us a splash.
.
[ As always, to ensure the mystery stays alive for everyone, please avoid specific location tags or any spoilers of the secret spot in your comments or posts. ]
.
Thanks to @trutonebulbs for kindly and generously providing hundreds of their warm LED Candleglow bulbs for the santas. These are the same bulbs from last year and are still glowing strong. I just can’t say enough good things about their lights.
.
Big thanks to @urbanworks for connecting me with Gus Baum at Security Properties – whose reaction time and enthusiasm for this project was truly unprecedented. I hope this earns you that Dad-of-the-Year award. Also everyone onsite at the location, you know where and who you are.
.
Last but not least, thank you Denis at Pacific Grip & Lighting for generously providing equipment and taking time with me to do a little brainstorming for the set up.
.
Tag ‘em when you find ‘em!
