This was my first time ever to Lake Como and I was so incredibly lucky to have earned Caitlin and Peyton’s trust for their 2-day elopement experience.
None of us had been here before and Como happened simply because C & P were brave enough to dream
Brave enough to trust in a photographer who hadn’t photographed here before.
Brave enough to believe in themselves and travel to a brand new place for one of the most important days of their lives.
Brave enough to let go of expectations, of what others might think or say—and just follow their hearts toward the wedding experience their souls craved.
The more I photograph weddings and elopements, the more I realize: it’s my clients’ bravery that allows us, as artists, to create work that’s honest and meaningful…
…the kind of art that echoes through time, not just instagram banger images
…the kind of art that will forever become someone’s family heirloom
…the kind of art that freezes not only moments in time but also the feelings of being so alive, so nervous, so excited, so ready for the next chapter, so in love
…the kind of art that whispers and screams “we were here”, “we mattered”, “we loved”, and “we lived fully”
Photos are sacred because they hold a piece of our soul - a connection to who we were in a fleeting moment and being invited to this space is a privilege - thank you for allowing me to be there
Here are photos from Day 1 of our 2-day adventure in Lake Como—where C & P exchanged vows at the very spot where Anakin and Padmé had their wedding in Star Wars
More to come soon for their day 2
C & P, you both are beautiful inside and out. Thank you for trusting in me and congratulations :)

Being married to a planner, I get to learn so much about wedding planning that as a photographer, I would not have known
S and J inquired and booked both @rainandpines and myself before we knew the border would be open for their wedding day.
We got a date and we all didnt really know for sure if our Plan A would work out.
1.5 years of planning: From meeting for the first time and how we all felt so nervous and excited in a little coffee shop in LA, to the couple flying up to Seattle multiple times so we can plan better over Thai food and boba, I truly get hear their story and the intentional touches behind every details.
For 1.5 years, besides the time I meet with the couple, I get to listen in on multiple zoom calls between the couple and @rainandpines
I get to learn about what Cogan’s Syndrome is, how it can affect someone’s hearing, balance, the ability to walk, run, and drive… and on top of that, i get to hear the couple’s story about how they supports each other through this journey from the very beginning.
I get to not only hear stories but also witness how S and J express love and receive love way before their day so when it’s time to press that shutter button, I know what makes their heart beat a little stronger.
I get to hear about their loved ones, their friends, their “people”, so on their wedding weekend, I know exactly how to document not only moments but also emotions of everyone around them.
The thing about someone’s wedding photos is that we only see the surface. When you scroll on social media, you see the highlight of the day because there isn’t enough space and words to truly share with you everything that it took for this day to happen like: the time we all invested, the kind of work each vendor provides, the way we planned, and replanned, and steered into directions that both excite and humble all of us.
Here are some photos from Day 1 of S and J’s intimate wedding. I wish IG would let me post more than 10 images at a time. On day 2 of their wedding, we went all adventure elopement style and spent the whole entire day exploring Banff. I’ll save it for the next post.
S and J, thank you for everything and for trusting in us.

✨Their Love Story is now featured on The New York Times✨
I had the privilege of documenting K and B for 3 unforgettable days at Camp Mendocino and I walked away with not just a new friendship but also the profound joy of witnessing something I’ve never quite felt before.
You see….when you’re gay, sometimes you have to make hard choices and unfathomable amount of sacrifices in order to protect your peace and be with The 1 you know you can’t live without.
Sometimes, if you’re lucky, you’ll have a friend or two who will stand by you. For K and B, they had an army.
The phrase “chosen family” is known All Too Well for queer people like us. Not all of us get to have our parents walk us down the aisle or share a first dance with.
Love in this chosen family shows up in a quieter ways
…in the art of showing up
…in the fact that sometimes you don’t need much, just a hug to a friend, a co-worker, an aunt
…in simple gestures that tells us that there’s nothing wrong with us and that we are deeply loved.
To think that just a year ago, I stood at a wedding where gay slurs were tossed around…and now, here I am, surrounded by all kind oflove: gays with kids, lesbians slow dancing, older couples breaking it down on the dance floor, younger ones embracing each other in warm hugs, etc…
I was Enchanted
I know that I am “just a vendor”, and maybe my feelings don’t always matter on someone else’s wedding day but when it’s all said and done, K & B and all my couples aren’t just statistics in my yearly booking numbers, they become the permanent pages in the book that is my life and forever shape the way I am as a human, a husband, a dad, a friend, a photographer.
You, my couples, are my Wildest Dreams.
K & B, thank you for coloring this page in my book of life with the warmest colors in the rainbow.
Congratulations on your beautiful 3-day wedding weekend and an even more beautiful marriage!
Long Live! 🌈

Nature changes colors with each season
yet its heart remains the same.
Maybe that’s what growing older is too.
For today and the rest of my days,
I think my biggest wish is simple now:
…to celebrate more birthdays with you
than the ones I ever celebrated without you.

Nature changes colors with each season

Maybe that’s what growing older is too.

Nature changes colors with each season
yet its heart remains the same.
Maybe that’s what growing older is too.
For today and the rest of my days,
I think my biggest wish is simple now:
…to celebrate more birthdays with you
than the ones I ever celebrated without you.
✨Comment “GALLERY” and I’ll send you a link for 1 free month of Pic-Time 2.0 ✨
If photography is the love letter,
then gallery delivery is the feeling of opening it for the first time.
Because this is the moment couples relive everything for the first time:
the vows
the people they love
the moments they missed
the feeling of the entire day.
And I truly believe the way people RECEIVE their memories becomes part of the memory itself.
That’s why I’ve loved using Pic-Time for the past 7 years. With Pic-Time 2.0, I can now customize galleries in a way that feels even more intentional, immersive, and emotionally connected to each wedding day.
And if you’re thinking about switching platforms, Pic-Time is currently helping migrate up to 200 galleries for free through May 27 when you join an annual plan :)

Three different times, everyone sat down for the ceremony.
Three different times, the rain rolled in right as B and O were about to walk out.
And each time, their family quietly stood back up, grabbed towels, wiped down every soaking chair, laughed, and waited for the sky to settle.
Nobody complained.
Nobody spiraled.
Nobody cared that the day wasn’t going “according to plan.”
Later, when we sat down for reception and the rain came back AGAIN, everyone just stood up, moved the table inside, and kept going. Like it was the most normal thing in the world.
“It was more vacation than wedding.”
That’s how B and O described their week in Kauai. And I haven’t stopped thinking about that sentence since.
Maybe I’ve been reading too many wedding horror stories in photographer Facebook groups.
Maybe I’ve been seeing too many blogs telling couples what their day is supposed to look like.
But this one was a reminder that weddings can and should just feel human.
A week spent slowly with the people you love.
Rain storms interrupting the timeline.
Everyone adapting together.
Nobody trying to force perfection.
Just presence.
Just community.
Just people choosing each other over and over again throughout the day.
And honestly, I think that’s way more beautiful than a perfectly curated wedding could ever be.
B and O, thank you for letting me wander into your circle, for the coconut, for the creative freedom, and for allowing me to capture it all
P.S. The gecko crashed the detail shot and honestly? Best photobomb of my career. He didn’t even ask for a tip.

I didn’t even hesitate and ordered this camera the moment it launched. Between photographing weddings and even my own family, you’re always one second away from the moment being gone. This is the camera that changed how much I trust my gear to keep up with me.
The AF locks and doesn’t let go. 30fps blackout-free so nothing slips through. And when the light isn’t cooperating, the stabilization just handles it.
You need to try it for yourself and Sony is giving a lot of you that chance with Creative Space is on the road:
Savannah, GA: Apr 8–9
Charleston, SC: Apr 15–16
Richmond, VA: Apr 22–23
Boston, MA: Apr 29–30
If you’re close to any of these cities, I highly recommend you check it out!

“If they’re here for the wedding, they should be here for the marriage.”
We said that quietly the night before everything.
I remember walking into their Airbnb, perched on a cliff overlooking the ocean where the sound of crashing waves becoming the white noise that softened everything before the day began.
C sat across from me, not as a photographer this time, but as a bride. And maybe that’s what made it feel different. Softer. More real. Like we had both stepped out from behind the camera and into something far more vulnerable.
Because as photographers, we’re invited into people’s most intimate moments. We see what love looks like when it’s not performative…when it’s honest.
And maybe that’s why that sentence stayed with me.
Not for the aesthetics.
Not for the photos.
Not for expectations.
But for the commitment.
For the quiet promises.
For the life that begins after everyone goes home.
The next day, I felt all of it the moment I met their people…the ones who traveled across the country to be there.
I was reminded you don’t need many people. Just the right ones.
The kind who don’t just show up for a day, but for a lifetime.
The ones have witnessed their story long before this moment…and will continue long after.
The people who hold space without needing attention, who support without conditions.
So I captured the way they looked at C and L.
The quiet reassurance.
The easy laughter.
The tears that didn’t need to be held back.
C and L, thank you for trusting me with something so sacred, for inviting me not just to witness, but to truly be part of your world.
And to C & L’s loved ones, thank you for welcoming me so effortlessly. For a moment, it didn’t feel like I was documenting strangers.
It felt like I was standing among family.

I still can’t believe this!!!
I am beyond grateful (and honestly still in disbelief) to share that one of my images has been selected for the 2026 Best of The Best Engagement Photos by @junebugweddings
Out of thousands of submissions from incredibly talented artists around the world…somehow my work found its way into this space…and it all happened because of these two and all their trust for what I do.
They welcomed me into their home.
Into their safe space
Into corners of their lives that held both laughter and heartbreak.
And that kind of access…that kind of trust…is something I will never take lightly
Going into this engagement session, we turned everything off.
We let go of expectations.
We let go of what a “photo session” is supposed to look like
We simply connected
They shared pieces of their story
I shared pieced of mine.
And somewhere in between, we found something honest…something that felt like what life is supposed to be and what love is supposed to mean
Not everything we created is meant to be seen.
Some moments are too intimate, too sacred to share.
They belong to just C and K and as a human (not just an artist), I am okay with that.
I am okay with those photos never being seen by anyone but the couple themselves
Maybe that’s what makes this engagement experience mean so much.
Thank you C and K
Thank you Junebug Weddings and the judges

Not every elopement needs a long hike.
Some do.
Some don’t.
Some look like waking up before sunrise and walking barefoot onto a quiet beach.
Some look like staying at a beautiful hotel, sipping coffee slowly, and watching the light change without rushing anywhere.
Some look like wandering through a forest when the light unexpectedly breaks through the trees… and realizing this moment, right here, is enough.
There’s this narrative in the elopement world that adventure = effort.
That if you’re not hiking miles, climbing something, or chasing something hard to reach… you’re somehow doing it wrong.
But what if the real question is simpler than that?
What feels right for you?
Because an elopement isn’t about proving anything.
It’s not about how far you go.
It’s about how deeply you experience where you are.
These photos are from C and J’s 2-day elopement in Kauai.
When they first reached out, we didn’t know exactly what their days would look like. We only knew they wanted something that felt true… something the internet doesn’t show enough of.
The way they planned these two days with part quiet beach, part luxury, part exploring, part just being…reminded me of something I always come back to:
You don’t need to earn your experience.
You just need to be present for it.
And when you are…
you notice everything.
You notice how you are loved, and how to love.
You notice that your wedding experience isn’t anyone else’s but your own… and you deserve to have it your way.
You notice that life is actually quite simple and joy is more beautiful when it’s shared.
C and J, thank you for trusting me.
Thank you for treating my family to shave ice the day before your elopement.
Thank you for going all in.
Thank you for cheering me on when I picked up the coconut from your ceremony to re-purpose for your detail photos.
Thank you for constantly lifting me up with your words, even after we parted ways.

Chúc Mừng Năm Mới 🧧🐴
Happy Lunar New Year 2026.
If your furniture was made in Vietnam, there’s a good chance it was made here, in workshops like these, built by hands that learned from the generations before them, in a small town called Đồng Nai.
This is where my husband is from.
And this year, we get to celebrate Tết here with our son and daughter.
For as long as we possibly can, we want Alpine and Glacier to know this part of themselves.
To feel the magic of Tết.
To understand the quiet pride of craft passed down through generations.
To come home to family.
To sit around a table filled with food made from memory and love.
To listen to the endless stories about the past, about sacrifice, about what the future could hold.
Because being Vietnamese isn’t just where you’re born.
It’s what you carry.
It’s what you choose to return to.
It’s the rituals you protect.
From our family, wishing you a year of intentional living.
An abundance of inner peace and joy.
Good health.
And warm, unhurried rest.
Chúc mừng năm mới ❤️
