“Ever since I first saw a shoebill online, I was convinced it couldn’t possibly be real. It looked like something between a dinosaur, a sculpture, and a Photoshop experiment gone too far.So I traveled to Uganda specifically to see one.
And when it finally happened… I cried.
The shoebill is one of the strangest and most fascinating birds I’ve ever encountered: it felt incredibly strange, almost prehistoric, yet at the same time profoundly elegant. These images are my attempt to capture that contradiction.
