Thanks to @gillespeterson for playing Firme na Palavra on @bbc6music on Saturday 🙌 a Bossa Nova style cover of a big gospel hit, its the B2 track on the next 12”.

Playing microwave to maxiwave, and probably a few heatwaves after this weekend along with the usual coldwave newwave italowave darkwave and postpunk wave. 🌊

Out to the dancers last night - loved playing UKG in the warehouse, came to studio with good energy. Slowly working through loads of bits of hardware tracks from last 2 years to make a live set.
Is there a pedal or something that has similar processing to a tascam deck? Think I’m going to end up taking it with me when playing live as it makes everything sound so good, but hardly helping the minimal setup idea.
Td3 is running through a ring mod effect of the boss pedal here, can hear it at the end. Enjoying pairing #td3 and #ms1 basslines recently as can make the blend then pull away.

Thank you to everyone who came to the Mary Newcomb talk on Wednesday with @tessanewcomb and myself @henry__comb - we hope you all enjoyed it?

The event was recorded in full, with two cameras and audio, once I have the footage and have edited it together it will be put on youtube, including the filmed studio visit. Probably in the next month, several people have messaged the account asking about it - please allow some time. It will be shared via @marynewcomb.archive and will also be sent out to everyone who booked a ticket for the event, and the waiting list.

The talk and recording it was supported by @assemblyhousetrust as part of @nnfest .

The exhibition will stay up until 20 July, free and open daily 9–5.

Started working out a live setup tonight, and while experimenting made this, always a good time to come up with things when sorting cables. Planning to play live with hardware again - aiming for September. I find it very hard to keep setup minimal, but trying to not use the heavy DX21 or M1 😔

Forgot to bring my Mackie12channel back to studio tonight, so ended up playing on the big one, not taking a 22channel to gigs. So good having everything on separate channels though!

I got invited to do a jazz focussed session on Sunday, 6-10pm at @birchnorwich - picked out a bunch of stuff I’ll be taking. There’s a new menu, sunday roast inspired, and new cocktails.

Back at Deadwax downstairs this Thur, and doing a jazzy Sunday special at Birch next week. Playing downstairs at bicycle shop in May as part of new events there, and to LPS outside yard for the good weather.🤞

Finally got my boxes of books out of studio storage, so nice to have things back out. I made these shelves in Dec to fit between wonky walls with cables in, they are wedged in rather than fixed at the sides. The shelves have been hungry for books and finally have a full plate. Plus a nice display shelf:
