April 6-10th is adolescent and young adult cancer awareness week. The “AYA” title is given to anyone between the ages of 15 to 39 diagnosed with cancer. We make up about 3-5% of cancer patients in Canada.

Yes I have a positive attitude but it has irreparably damaged and changed my life!

I’m grateful everyday for the new pals I’ve met in my life and the folks over at @yacancercanada for helping me walk with this journey.

Been toying between “happy cancer day” and “f**k cancer day”. Landed on “Today is World Cancer Day”. Because that’s what it is. It just is.

I went into this journey with a preconceived notion on what cancer was, and it’s like nothing I could have ever imagined. I am constantly met with equal blessings to challenges. I am surprised with my resilience while swimming through depths I didn’t know possible.
I don’t know if I’ll be “stronger” after cancer. I think I’ll just be. And another day of being is one I cherish.

So cheers to however you feel about #worldcancerday
