When Vancouvers forecast is torrential downpours, why not get wetter?!

Killed two birds with one stone over the weekend, picking up a desk from Facebook Marketplace and hitting up Bridal Veil Falls. Google said “the busiest it gets” - not another human in sight.

Highly recommend the falls for a quick fix of nature. The waterfall is insane and the forest is SO green.

Think collage making, connection, charms, jewelry making, charcuterie, poetry flowers, new friends and so much more. People were free to take what they needed to leave what they didn’t.

It was a very emotional day, witnessing such a range of feelings. There was chatter, laughter, breathwork, silence, tears and stories. There was a flower wall to write down advice that your mum gave you, a freestyle poet who would write a card based off of a single word or sentence about your mum. Coming from somebody who has lost loved ones, but still has their mum around(albeit, on the other side of the world), I’m in awe of the strength of these women, being able to turn a dark day into something beautiful. Grief affects everyone in different ways and whilst it can be the saddest day, it can also be a day of reflection and memories. There was room for everybody to show up as they needed.

Side note: this song was playing as I walked into La Fabrique and watching all the volunteers adding the finishing touches instantly changed any expectations I had. So much love, so much detail and so much energy in that room. Incredibly grateful to have been trusted in capturing the morning.

I typically hate shooting on a bright blue sunny day but it was fun to play around with the light & textures. Also edited V different to usual.
