“Embryolisse” is technically a brand name, but in France it means one thing: an aluminum tube of the ointment-like moisturizer @embryolisseusa Lait-Crème Concentré. The shea-butter-enriched cream was first developed as a skin salve by a dermatologist at a Paris hospital in the 1950s. Its renown grew, and today pharmacists also recommend it as a wipe-off cleanser, an after-shave, and a sunburn soother. We cosign all of that but also find it’s really best as a hydrating base for makeup (a pea-sized dollop is all you need).
“It’s one of the only moisturizers that feels lightweight while still providing long-lasting hydration,” beauty writer @ohheyitsneh said.
“I have lots of fine lines under my eyes, so most concealers I apply there will crease.
