Titanium crystal wine stemware coming in hot!! Preorders are shipping soon, which provides a great opportunity to share some video from production. This is a true team sport in every way, as molten crystal moves from the furnace to its final form in packaging. Have you ever watched one of those egg races? It’s kind of like that, except imagine you have to make the egg first and then also play hot potato with it. Inevitably many glasses are broken or discarded along the way, but the ones that do make it feel like tiny miracles. All in the pursuit of highlighting the many other craftsmen and women who create the wonderful elixirs you enjoy so much. Cheers!

Our newest piece of glassware, The Red Glass, is designed for bold impressive wines like the @lagiermeredith 2021 Mondeuse. The wine is youthful with only 4 years of age, but sometimes you just need to pop the bottle - and that's where a larger glass is really useful. Powerful concentrated notes of leather, fig, and garrigue fill the glass, while the extra aeration really harmonizes the bouquet and polishes the tannins.

The Fontaine White is our newest specialty glass for mineral-driven still and sparkling white wines.

This shape works like a spotlight, adding width and power in a focused and direct manner. There is a precise amount of space in the glass allowing aromatics to breathe, but not so much that their delicate notes are lost or diffused.

The Fontaine Resonance is our newest glass. Its generously proportioned shape is inspired by classic Burgundy and Barolo designs and crafted with a modern touch to give complex wines the space to breathe and reveal their full character.

And just like our Universal glass, we collaborated with world-class wineries like Sandrone every step of the way to ensure the highest levels of form and function.

Really excited to share the latest prototypes for our upcoming Pinot/Nebbiolo and Sparkling stems! We’re finally only a couple small tweaks away from the final versions. Like our Universal, brilliant consulting wineries such as @dragonettewine and @champagnevilmart have helped ensure the shapes really respect the wine poured inside.

Do you have any suggestions on what to call them? My hesitation is that these work for many styles, so varietal or region specificity feels to narrow. For example, the wines of our partners @stonyhillvineyard and @sandroneluciano absolutely sing in what is typically called a “Burgundy” glass. 🤔 Share your thoughts in the comments!

Testing countless wines in new prototypes is so difficult! Just kidding... it’s extremely enjoyable.

This @sandroneluciano Cannubi Boschi is so astounding that I drank a full glass before remembering I was supposed to be evaluating the Fontaine prototypes.

@antoniogalloni describes it best: “A translucent dark ruby, this weightless yet sumptuous Barolo bursts from the glass with layers of dark ripe fruit that coat the palate with stunning grace and elegance.”

Aged whites from @matthiasson_wine are such a delight. The decade of maturation mixed with their trademark lightness is bliss. The 12.5% Grenache Blanc is beautifully perfumed in the glass, complex but graceful. Red and green apples, straw and hay, honey, minerality.

Late harvest Semillon may not be what comes to mind when you think of @stonyhillvineyard but it should be! The 2019 vintage is absolutely singing right now and every element - from the sweetness and acidity to texture is in perfect harmony. There’s refinement and elegance, with each component present but not overwhelming or fighting for attention. Evocative of honey coated flowers and dried stone fruits. A big thank to @vine.n.dine for the hospitality and welcoming us to one of the most gorgeous estates in Napa Valley.

Riesling is always a delight, but this @weinguthermannludes is something extra. It’s a full throttle acid trip. The aromatic and palate profiles are fairly representative of this style of wine, but are lifted by a joyful neon-lit pinball energy that laughs in the face of its decade of aging. Cannot wait to revisit in another twenty years and see how beautifully it evolves.
