Our first official Eremos Trilogy poster — created by the wonderful @ravivasavan

Here’s Ravi’s description behind the design:

The keyart captures the shared undercurrent of the Eremos trilogy through a single ripple, showing how each story connects across time and space. The drowning head at the centre reflects the emotional weight each protagonist carries. Isolated, overwhelmed, but not alone.

We were pleased to deliver two workshops alongside our talented friend Danny Murphy, director of Don’t Look, at Deaffest - the UK’s leading Deaf film and arts festival.

We shared insight into developing and realising film projects with limited resources, exploring practical processes and creative strategies used in low-budget filmmaking, including planning, collaboration and problem-solving. We also spoke about our journey from early concepts through to public and private screenings.

Thank you to everyone who attended both workshops. It was wonderful to see both familiar and new faces and so many passionate people within the industry.

And thank you @deaffest for having us!

'Eremos Trilogy’ | Directed by Sam Arnold (UK, 2025)

🎞 Nominee - Best Film + Best Actor | https://shorturl.at/KBOwi

Eremos Trilogy is the first-ever Deaf short film anthology, and entirely self-funded. Eremos derived from the Greek word for “solitude” is the central theme that connects all three films. The trilogy follows three different deaf protagonists as they navigate various forms of isolation in modern society. Each story explores challenges unique to the deaf community, blending gritty, thought-provoking narratives with a touch of dark humour.

(Content warning: This programme contains references to suicide attempts, sex addiction, and drug abuse.)

🎟️ Coming to screen at #Deaffest 2026 - more info here: https://shorturl.at/ok6xE

BTS: As a guerrilla micro low budget production, we worked with a single camera, capturing multiple takes from different angles to build the scene dynamically and efficiently.

Video description 1: The director and cinematographer capture shots from behind Duffy as he performs Visual Vernacular in front of 20–25 Deaf supporting artists inside a magical community hall. Fae, our 1st AD, oversees the set and logs each take.

**Massive thanks to Sheffield Deaf Club for taking part in the film and to Farm Road Sports Club for providing the venue.

Video description 2: The director and cinematographer on a handheld tracking shot from behind Nadeem as he moves through Sheffield’s busy high street, carrying his folded chair through the crowd. 1st AD is overseeing the cast and crew around the live environment.

Video description 3: The director and cinematographer capture a moving close-up of Duffy, with subtle performance details and emotional intensity.

Video description 4: The director and cinematographer film a medium shot of Duffy performing a scene from Vol. III opposite Nadeem inside a dimly lit flat, creating a moody, intimate atmosphere.
