This winter was spent going deep into @backroomsmovie co-composing the score with creative behemoth and truly wonderful human @kanepixels

Learned so much working on cues for these netherworlds and couldn’t be happier with the resulting music we made for this legendary film. Feel very lucky to be part of the hard-working, humble, and supportive team of creatives and producers who brought this to the silver screen.

Could not have done it without the help of @jeffrey.innes who holds the studio down and contributed with incredible additional original compositions.

For the film, Van Breemen crafted a minimalist, organic score built from live acoustic recordings and bespoke sample instruments, incorporating tapping, knocking, and wooden textures that reflect the film’s eerie cabin setting.

Thursday, November 28th is our Fifth installment of COMMUNAL SOUNDS SERIES 2024. #linkinbio for tickets 🎟️

Tutti is a 4D spactial sound immersive concert played through speakers surrounding the room; enveloping listeners in the sonic experience. A 45 minute set will be performed through synths, electronics and voice, both structured composition and improvised.

PLUS DJ sets from DJ Dampfnudel (Galiano Island)

ALEXANDER OVERINGTON is a Peabody Award-winning composer and producer from New York City. His work can be heard in collaborations with Alarm Will Sound, ANOHNI, The New York Times, Radiolab, Roomful of Teeth, David Virelles, VOX Media, Windstar Enterprises LLC, and WNYC Studios.

EDO VAN BREEMEN is a composer and pianist. He is the co-founder of Lobe studio, and has worked extensively on spatial sound projects. He is currently dabbling in the horror film genre, composing music for Stephen King’s, “The Monkey”.

JENN BOJM is a musician and vocalist from Vancouver BC. Most recently she returned from a residency in Florence Italy where she studied baroque technique and repertoire. She has recorded two solo records, namely ‘Battlestar’ recorded with producer Colin Cowan. She has collaborated with many projects over the years including Elastic Stars, Jenn Bojm and Khingfisher and Dada Plan, among others.

DJ DAMFNUDEL Born in Munich, Wolfgang Matthes is a renowned composer and sound designer with a vast array of international credentials from Berlin to Los-Angeles. Now living on Galiano Island he is currently working on a follow up release with Roedelius / Matthes - Curious Music and new personal music.
