“Off Hollywood: The Undocumented Journey of Hope is a love letter to the Hollywood neighborhood. We aimed to juxtapose the movement of Hollywood Boulevard, its iconic meaning, and the physical presence of the space in the film with the anxiety and determination carried by our main character. Atlas Orion [Silver Edition] anamorphic lenses were our ideal choice to portray the Hollywood neighborhood, its pulsating rhythm, and the lives of our immigrant heroes with a classical yet modern character (aka flair) that the Atlas Orion series embodies. All of our exterior scenes were shot on Hollywood Boulevard, making it crucial for us to capture the width of the cramped, usually overcrowded streets and contrast it with the lush greenery typical of California, for a truthful depiction of life’s rhythm here. This portrait of a resilient father, hustling artist, and immigrant carries a layer of familiarity, but we’ve mixed it with themes that are novel, honest, and often overshadowed by the glamour of the coffee-stained Hollywood narrative.” - @dp_haley
