Here’s the teaser for our ALEXA 265 x STATERA Anamorphic Lens Test (Link in Bio to the full 4K Lens Test). In case you missed our recent post with @lens_addiction and @ancientoptics - STATERA 1.5x FF+ Anamorphic lenses are one of the few viable anamorphic lens options to pair with ALEXA 265. We wanted to show that you can get great results for a 2.40:1 presentation which utilizes most of the ALEXA 265’s huge image sensor, and delivers more anamorphic character than 1.3x anamorphic lenses, giving you a great balance of resolution and character for 65mm format. Introducing the @ofgcustoms LONG SHOT. The Long Shot is an optical adapter that allows you to use Full Frame/Large Format/Vista Vision lenses, and retain the full field of view, depth of field, and character of those lenses onto the 16mm format. It was designed specifically to use with PL mount 16mm cameras like the ARRI 416, ARRI SR3, AATON Xtera, XTR Prod, and more. You now have 10 times the lens options for 16mm film, as well as the ability to capture a completely new look, no one has ever seen for 16mm. This truly is 16mm reimagined. The Long Shot has swappable mounts, and we have mounts for PL, LPL, Canon EF, Nikon F, Canon FD, BNCR, and more!

These are two of our widest lenses for LF/VV/FF and beyond: the @zerooptik Canon+ 10mm T3.7, and the @arri Enso 10.5mm T2.8. Zero Optik optimized this 10mm for 65mm format coverage! So this might be the widest lens available for that format. It’s sharp on center, with gradual fall-off toward the edges. It has lovely bokeh and flare character, with just the right amount of barrel distortion. It’s a great choice to pair with vintage lens sets. But if you need a modern ultra-wide, the Enso is a great choice. Extrememely sharp. No focus breathing, controlled flare character, smooth bokeh, and almost no distortion. This is the brand new Zeiss B-Speed 14mm T1.4. This one was a collaboration between @ancientoptics and @gl_optics and is the follow-up to the 135mm T2.2 B-Speed we announced recently. Both lenses expand on the original 5-lens set, and both feature the B-Speeds’ unique triangular iris. So now you have a uniform, perfectly matched, unique set of vintage optics from 14mm to 135mm.
The lenses have internal focus, improved close focus, expanded focus scales, matching gear positions, and rock-solid, reliable mechanics. Wide open, the lenses create a more traditional, vintage textured aesthetic. The triangular iris does not reveal its character until you stop down. Around T2, T2/2.8 split is the sweet spot if you like the look of rounded triangular bokeh. It’s really special.
The lenses have Zeiss’ legendary vintage leaded glass, and T* coatings. The lenses deliver very flattering skin tones, and lens flares are beautiful without overwhelming the image. They are truly stunning lenses.

So excited to finally share this Director’s Cut we shot way back in September for Real California Dairy! With 110 degree weather, tons of flies, and all the smells, we had the best vibes with my guys @petesestina and @jrashada roaming around various California dairy farms for 2 weeks.
Also, not to be cheesy but they say the best camera is the one in your hands and that couldn’t be truer. I was rocking a barebones Sony FX3 and a few kit lenses and filters. Nothing else. Pete and I wanted to focus on raw moments, interesting frames and not worry so much about shallow depth of field and carefully placed scenes. In fact, embracing a deep focus was fun…not to mention the pinwheel sun flares!
Big big thanks to our editor @chrispetow who found these incredible moments and brought this piece to life! Couldn’t have done it without you. Big shoutout to @lorenjameswhite, for bringing some color back but keeping us grounded in a real world. NEW WORK!!!
So excited to finally share this Director’s Cut we shot way back in September for Real California Dairy! With 110 degree weather, tons of flies, and all the smells, we had the best vibes with my guys @petesestina and @jrashada roaming around various California dairy farms for 2 weeks.
Also, not to be cheesy but they say the best camera is the one in your hands and that couldn’t be truer. I was rocking a barebones Sony FX3 and a few kit lenses and filters. Nothing else. Pete and I wanted to focus on raw moments, interesting frames and not worry so much about shallow depth of field and carefully placed scenes. In fact, embracing a deep focus was fun…not to mention the pinwheel sun flares!
Big big thanks to our editor @chrispetow who found these incredible moments and brought this piece to life! Couldn’t have done it without you.
