For This Jazz Minute, we look at the remarkable career of longtime Bay Area synthesist, producer, composer, and electronic pioneer Patrick Gleeson, known for his groundbreaking work with Herbie Hancock — and as the founder of Different Fur Studios, a legendary San Francisco recording space that became a hub for innovation in music.

Different Fur Studios manager/engineer Grace Coleman and I are happy that yesterday we wrapped up approximately 140 hours of recording to create the audiobook for Mighty Real: A History of LGBTQ Music 1969-2000, which Viking will publish May 12. #lgbtqaudiobook #lgbtqmusic
