In conjunction with Merdeka and Hari Malaysia, we created this campaign for CHAGEE’s latest drop—the CEYLON BLACK TEA series. Working closely with @__onetwojus from the initial creative stage to where it is today has been really refreshing. We were all aligned on showcasing our Malaysian culture in a different and “easter egg” way. From the Ceylon tea-stained color of the “Wau” and the train setting symbolizing our country’s development to our Rajah Brooke’s Birdwing, these were some of the details that shaped the campaign into what it is today, and I’m really glad we pushed for it!

To tie the whole campaign together, we brought in the ever-so-effortless @talieprabs to represent the multi-racial aspect of Malaysia. When this campaign came about, she was at the top of my mind, and I’m glad we all shared the vision!

Last but not least, a big shoutout to the A-team for turning this 2D board into the campaign it is today!

“Maya - Pewaris Suara Masa Depan”
Maya is a story close to my heart.

I grew up in a home where voices came in many languages, Melanau spoken by my mother and aunties from Dalat, Kenyah from my sister-in-law, and Iban echoing through conversations with friends. In my small town, this rich tapestry of indigenous languages was just everyday life. But it wasn’t until I moved to KL that I realised how rare those voices have become. Some no longer speak them. Some never had the chance to learn.

That silence is what Maya hopes to speak into. It’s more than a story, it’s a small step toward preserving the voices of Sabah and Sarawak, the languages that carry our identity, and soul.

So when @fabianjoseph first approached me with this project, I hesitated. It was my first slightly longer narrative, and it dealt with delicate cultural threads from East Malaysia. I was afraid of getting it wrong. But with the constant support of Fabian and @sarahloisd, who became trusted advisors, along the way, I found the courage to begin. (Truly grateful for the both of them <3)

What made this journey special was the respect and collaboration from everyone involved. Working with the agency truly felt like teamwork; every detail was treated with care. From the wardrobe and locations to the songs and poems, each choice was made with intention to honour the people, the land, and their stories.

Shooting in Borneo came with its own rhythms: unpredictable weather, breathtaking landscapes, and a spirit that demanded presence. We embraced it all.

I’m endlessly grateful to our team, our crew, our talents, many of whom are from Borneo themselves. This felt like more than a film. It felt like a calling. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who helped bring this to life. It was never mine alone, it was always ours.

Inside Grumpy Bagels 1905 - Before It Opens

BIO steps inside this beautifully rejuvenated 120-year-old heritage building, formerly used as a KTM electrical workshop, which gave rise to its name, The Diesel Room. In this first episode, we follow Claire (‪@zhysin) and Ivan (@ivanyeo10) of Grumpy Bagels, alongside Dilly (@dillydec) from Poi Studio, as they walk us through the decisions and details behind the build of Grumpy Bagels 1905!

Before It Opens • Grumpy Bagel 1905

There are places that hold time differently. Where walls do not just stand, but remember.

With age, comes a kind of texture that cannot be replicated. So it begins, not with rebuilding, but with returning.
To what was already there.

Arches kept intact.

Curves left untouched.

Beams that have stood for over a century, held with care rather than changed.

“Before It Opens” came from a place of wanting to fulfil a childhood dream. Growing up, I realised I really enjoy watching documentaries, whether it is cultural or food-related. I think what I love most is getting to step into someone else’s mind and hearing them talk about something they are truly passionate about.

Starting this series will definitely take time and a team to craft each episode. But it’s one of those things, never try never know kinda situation.

A cyanotype work translated onto fabric, carrying layered blue hues formed from florals — White Alliums, Grevillea Big Red, Frosted Explosion, and Veronicas. It marks Dexter’s return to making with his hands, where control gives way to process. Sunlight, time, and natural elements take over, leaving behind marks that can’t be fully directed.

Component 3: “The Blue Frequency”
A floral arrangement built on blue tones and chrome vessels, reflecting both presence and impermanence. Dexter’s relationship with florals traces back to watching his mother arrange flowers for others.

Together, these works sit in contrast yet in sync, one shaped by exposure and imprint, the other by assembly and decay. Both exist within a limited moment. What remains is the act of making, and the decision to let go!

Tonight’s one of those nights where my friends and I look back at my past work together haha. Kinda fun picking at the little things that could’ve been better, but I guess that’s part of growing!

It’s a simple shot, but somehow I’m drawn to it haha. This was from the “life with you” MV I did with @lullaboyxo a few years ago.

Special mention to the talented @baydoucet, our “lulla-bae” in the MV. Such a memory. Thank you for saying yes to this with me!

Also, shoutout to his new song “heaven” that I’ve been obsessed with lately. Maybe someday we’ll do this again!
