What a day. Absolute honor to showcase Korean cuisine on the @todayshow this morning with @alroker @sheinelle_o @craigmelvinnbc. Turned out it was the Lee Takeover with the amazing Greta Lee on the same show. Still in a bit of a daze but I’m amazed by all the work done day in and day out for this show, and huge thanks to everyone involved. Special thanks to @ms_cfang @jamienguyentv for pushing to make this happen!
What it made it even more special was to have @nataliepark05 by my side the entire time. I would’ve been a pile of nerves without her here and I’m so happy we could share this special day together.

Some memories from another eventful year with the person I’m lucky enough to call my wife.
No matter who you are, life still isn’t “normal” these days. I say I’m lucky because Natalie has not only been there to support me when I’m down, but she’s been an inspiration to me on a daily basis with her strength, compassion, and advocacy for others less fortunate. She has turned me into a better person, that’s as simple as I can put it.
Thank you @nataliepark05 for simply being you, and @boo_ju_ also told me this morning that you’re their favorite. Happy anniversary!

It’s premiere day! #TakeOutWithLisaLing is now available to stream on @hbomax. Here’s a quick clip from the episode (ep 6, “Korean American Dream”) my mother and I are in, but I hope you watch all six episodes of this amazing series.
Thank you to @lisalingstagram and @helencho for creating such a powerful show, one that represents survival and growth of the Asian community in America. It’s an absolute honor to represent the Korean community in this episode along with incredible people like @paulysong @jbrekkie @kimchi.juice @kogiyabbq. Our hope is that fellow Asian Americans can watch this entire series and feel proud of our respective cultures instead of hiding them.
And yes, in the beginning of the show you can catch a glimpse of me singing Purple Rain in the karaoke room 😬

For two decades, Chef @dannyleedc has lived by the same ethos: serve Korean food that feels like home, whether you grew up with it or are experiencing it for the first time. #20Years20Stories

Still a few tickets left for this special collaboration dinner at @roosterandowl taking place THIS Wednesday, May 20th. I’ll be cooking a four course menu with @chefyuantang and team, and who knows, maybe some karaoke after?
What’s even more amazing is that Chef Yuan is going to donate a portion of the proceeds to @embracerace, an amazing organization that I’m honored to serve as culinary ambassador for. EmbraceRace is a nonprofit organization focused on helping parents, caregivers, and educators talk with children about race and racism in thoughtful, age-appropriate ways. Their mission is to help raise kids who are thoughtful, informed, and brave about not only themselves but the amazing cultures surrounding them.
Please visit the @roosterandowl page on @resy to secure your tickets!
Thank you to everyone who joined us at @pascual.dc for a packed night with Chef Danny Lee (@dannyleedc), featuring Jeyuk Bokkeum shaved fresh from the trompo, pineapple kimchi salsa, and Jeyuk Coladas flowing behind the bar all night long.
🔥 Next up: Vol. 3 this Thursday with Chef Fernando González (@fernando_gonzalez_pitmaster) of @2fiftytexasbbq.
Nos vemos back at the Trompo. 🌮
Ever wondered what strawberry cheong brings to a dish? Chef @dannyleedc explains how it adds a bright, nuanced sweetness to both our new salad and dessert.

In this episode of #20Years20Stories, Chef @dannyleedc shares how his relationship with his Korean identity has evolved over the years, especially through the lens of food and hospitality.

Trompo Takeover Vol. 2 starts now at @pascual.dc. 🌮
Korean heat meets the trompo. Chef (taquero 👀) Danny Lee (@dannyleedc) brings Jeyuk Bokkeum to the spit; pork shoulder marinated in gochujang, doenjang, soy, and aromatics, stacked al pastor–style, shaved to order, and finished with pineapple kimchi salsa.
Behind the bar: a Jeyuk Colada; raicilla, ancho chile liqueur, coconut, pineapple, lime. Smoky, tropical, unmistakably Korean in spirit.
See you soon. 🔥
