🚨 Long Post Alert

Today is a special part of my Herstory! 12 years ago I wrote “Ostinato” f/ @iamgrizzy the very first song from my EP and very first project titled “Self Expression Miss Understood”. I was in a dark place and music was my greatest escape.

I had a vision to share the project I wrote with the world and on 3/3/17 the seed for @classifiedaccess was born and “Self Expression Miss Understood” was released! It was a blessing to have everyone present in the space to experience my art in a different way and under my monicker @jaclsound. At that time NO ONE even knew I sang and wrote all those songs except less than a handful of people (@marshianbeats @joey.manages @playwitrox and a few more✨)

Fast Forward to pandemic, I had been juggling work and performing and finally I got the inspiration I needed to leave my 9-5 and do Gods work! ( 🙏🏾 @leeenglandjr 🫶🏾) 3/3/20 was my last day at my old job working as a program manager with kids at a non secure detention facility whom I loved dearly, but I had to follow the calling. I was terrified, unsure, nervous, and all the things but the journey of being present has been the most beautiful. I am brought to tears each time I hear “Ostinato” and each time I remember this day and the sentimental meaning it holds for me.

Ostinato and the EP as a whole was an experiment in itself to gauge my audience to help them, YOU, the listener, digest my music in such a way that you were able to tap into my world and hence I continued my journey using that foundation to write my debut album which continued that same journey and story, MY STORY, “ATELOPHOBIA: The Plight of Ostinato”. I am blessed and honored to have even shared 1 song with the world and for it to be received.🙏🏾 Gratitude

Thank you to EVERYONE who has come along on this journey with me in any capacity, I appreciate you and I love you dearly! and Ms Zina, I adore you 💐 @zina.anne is the brilliant artist behind the Face of @classifiedaccess my EP artwork and the artwork for my book! INSPIRATION & REFLECTION✨

I am Inspired by my peers and all creatives that push through all obstacles when it comes to this artistic journey. Finding ways to be resilient is truly admirable.✨

This is the last day of what I like to call “CLASSEMBER”, my birth month and a special time of the year that I’ve relentlessly dedicated to sharing music, creativity, and space with fellow musicians. In this world I’ve learned to be the most vulnerable, something I’ve struggled with for a long time. It’s not easy but it’s necessary.

In my reflection of the year I am filled with complete gratitude and hope. I look forward to continued growth and healing. I look forward to connection with new faces and reconnecting with some old ones. Thank You God for who you are and who I am. May the next coming months be filled with abundance and an overflow✨

Thank you all for the love, support, and encouragement. I hold all of your words near and dear to my heart as I continue on this journey through the wilderness🙏🏾

Classified 2025 “High Vibrations” Edition was exactly that! My heART is full and I can’t wait to see what 2026 has in store! I extend my deepest gratitude to all of those in attendance and those that graced the mic. You are truly beautiful souls and it is always a joy to share space with you. This by far has been one of the best Birthdays I’ve ever had and it was made possible by all of you ✨🩷
