Next up! ‘Back of House’ by Chaney Diao and ‘Front of House’ by Juliusz Grabianski, opening Thursday 4th June 6-10pm.
.
Occupying piccalilli simultaneously across two solo exhibitions, ‘Back of House’ and ‘Front of House’ each construct staged environments in which bodies, objects and viewers become implicated within shifting structures of control, performance and spectatorship. In both exhibitions, mediated erotic imagery, staged domestic settings, synthetic bodily substances and scripted social encounters produce a landscape of constructed experience. Relations between performer and audience, viewer and viewed, server and consumer continuously collapse and intersect.

These dynamics emerge in real time during the opening night, where visitors are incorporated into a filmed live performance directed by Juliusz Grabianski. Beginning outside at 8 pm before moving into the gallery space, the performance further unsettles distinctions between participation and observation, extending both exhibitions’ broader consideration of authorship, spectatorship and the staging of social relations.

The exhibition will continue until 11th July 2026, open Thursday-Saturday 12-6pm.

Feeling ultimately thrilled to have opened Knotted Timeline - a dual show with @jgrab_at Seager gallery @seagergallery last night with my new series of sculptural pieces under the bigger title of Headspace. With my feet high up in the air I can feel the blood withdraws from my extremities - feeling cold, pain, then numbness. I beg for a STOP.

Introducing Chaney Diao(@chaney_dms) - artist for our upcoming duo show Knotted Timelines with Juliusz Grabianski (@jgrab_)
, opens Thursday 29 May, 6-9 PM.

Chaney will be presenting a new sculptural installation Headspace - combining 3D-printed forms, assembled objects, and structured light.

Headspace drifts through a zone where objects hover between formation and fixation. Rendered in a subdued, universal grey, the works borrow from the spatial logic of modeling software and speculative environments, gesturing toward architectures not yet fully settled. Desires will be looked at in the gaps between surface and suggestion, scaffold and skin, objects and objectification.

Chaney Diao is a London-based artist whose practice is situated at the intersection of desire, labor, and mediated aesthetics. Chaney will be presenting a new sculptural installation Headspace - combining 3D-printed forms, assembled objects, and structured light.

Headspace drifts through a zone where objects hover between formation and fixation. Rendered in a subdued, universal grey, the works borrow from the spatial logic of modeling software and speculative environments, gesturing toward architectures not yet fully settled. Desires will be looked at in the gaps between surface and suggestion, scaffold and skin, objects and objectification.
