Had a really productive field trip in Cambridgeshire this week—visited sites and spent time with some cool archival materials.
Big shout-out to @cambridgeshire.archives for giving me access to so many fascinating documents. It’ll take some time to digest 🙃

Can’t believe it’s been around 14 months since STP’s very first exhibition PV — we’re deeply grateful for all the support we’ve received since then. We’re still figuring out how to make this work, but we’re excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to bring you more events in the years to come :)
Also, we had some portraits taken by the amazing duo @liangqi_yao & @yulai.xu

I’m thrilled to share that I will be joining the faculty lecture series at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts as a visiting artist. The lecture, titled “Play as Method: Art, Teaching, and Embodied Thought,” will explore the role of play in creative and pedagogical practices.
I’ll be speaking about my own approach to the concept of games/play, in the context of my upbringing and the exhibition Game ≈ Role-playing ≈ Rule-setting, which I co-curated with Jack Kinsman (@kinsman_imal) at Small-Time Project (@smalltimeproject_stp).

I’m excited to share that I’ll be part of Family Portrait, a group exhibition at Sarabande Foundation (@sarabandefoundation), curated by Jennifer Jones (@jenlartna). The show features works by Bowen Zhang, George Richardson (@george_richardson), Jennifer Jones, Koby Martin (@koby_martin), and Yijia Wu (@ikeeabug).
Private View: Thursday 19th June, 6–8pm
Open: Friday 20th – Sunday 22nd June, 12–6pm
Location: Sarabande Foundation, 792 High Road, London, N17 0DH

‘Family Portrait’ brings together five Sarabande artists who offer a subversive exploration of this genre. Moving beyond figurative depiction, the exhibition challenges familiar notions of representation. The works invite audiences to reconsider traditional ideas of portraiture and engage with the intimate, layered ways we define and reflect on family today. Here, family is evoked through memory, domestic space, and material traces of everyday life. Through sculpture, textiles, framing, and painting, familial experience surfaces as tensions, imprints, and inheritances- both tangible and intangible. Shifting away from visual likeness, ‘Family Portrait’ centres on how family feels rather than how it appears- the awkwardness, the warmth, the rituals, the silences. It’s a show about presence and absence, of what we carry with us and what we try to leave behind. In this reimagining, the family portrait is no longer a static image, but a living, evolving reflection of what family can mean.
