THE DOOMSTOMPERS HAVE ARRIVED!!! Their debut album “TAKE A BEAT” is out on 6.12.26, and you can pre order it on vinyl + digital right now. The first single “POLITICAL JOKES” is now streaming everywhere, and you can check out a lyric video for it on the BTR YouTube channel.

Playing a sound that could only come from the depths of Brooklyn, The Doomstompers have somehow found a way to blend all of your favorite styles of ska into something that feels instantly familiar but incredibly fresh at the same time. The influence from some of New York’s ska and punk heavyweights are clear... the band can remind you of The Slackers in one moment, and just as easily hit you with Choking Victim the next. But their individuality and new take are the starring role, helmed by the incredible vocals of Lady Kay McCaney. There’s grit, there’s soul, there’s so much going on in “Take A Beat” that you will not even for a second remember that it’s a DEBUT ALBUM.

ON TWITCH every Tuesday and Thursday I’ll be blending my love of SKA with my love for other equally nerdy and niche things... old school video gaming and magic the gathering! I’ve been playing Nintendo since I was old enough to turn on a TV, and I’ve been playing and hoarding Magic since right around the time I first heard “The Impression That I Get”. On Tuesdays I’ll draft MTG on Arena, and on Thursdays I’ll make my way through a collection of games from my childhood... and every stream will have a high-fidelity BTR soundtrack. ALSO BTR POD

ON WHATNOT every Wednesday I’ll either be slinging BTR releases and a huge collection of distro titles, or Magic & Trading card piles & singles! I’ll swap every other week between vinyl or TCG stuff, so keep an eye on the scheduled shows.

PLUS, I’ll be doing a ton of specialty Whatnot shows that will pop up from time to time. The first of those will be on Sunday April 19th at 4pm, where we’ll do a special fundraiser stream live with @bad_operation ! We’ll be selling the new BAD OP record EVERYTHING MUST GO live on the stream, and also doing a ton of free giveaways with each sale... every dollar raised over the starting auction amount will be donated to The Black School in New Orleans.

Ok so WHY am I doing this? I am increasingly less and less interested in chasing algorithmic trends an creating content for the other big social sites. I am MUCH happier directly interacting with people, even if it’s only a handful of you at a time on random Wednesday vinyl auction. I’ve come to realize I really love live streaming, and when I’m not doing mailorder or working my other two jobs I really hate being idle. I’d love to stay connected with the BTR community on a more consistent basis and try out some new platforms in the process... and if that means I get to play video games for a couple hours while you listen to some tunes, then I am 100% here for it.
