Amy Sherald had a rare heart condition and, after waiting months, received a transplant and has found creative ways to honor her donor, Kristin Lin Smith.

“I have on my Instagram account, I hashtag it ‘adventures of Kristin and Amy’ so that I can mark all the big moments and include her in those moments. And when I sign my name, I put a little heart on the end for her,” explains Sherald.
