Celebrating a Decade Downtown 🎉
When we opened our doors in Downtown Los Angeles’s Arts District in 2016, the gallery arrived not as a distant institution dropped into a burgeoning neighborhood, but as a space intended to grow alongside one.
From landmark exhibitions, performances and talks to education initiatives and time spent in the courtyard, garden and at Manuela (@manueladtla), this ongoing engagement continues to shape the space. Ten years later, that growth is legible in every dimension—and in the nearly two million visitors who have embraced it.

Coming up soon at @hauserwirthlosangeles Downtown LA: ‘Keith Tyson. The Generative Universe’.
Spanning more than three decades of paintings, sculptures and mixed-media works, the exhibition emerges from @keithtyson23’s foundational conviction that the universe operates as a single generative system—a constantly shifting network in which all forms arise, transform and dissolve.
Join us for the opening reception on 28 May, 6 – 8 pm. Link in bio to plan your visit.

Remembering the visionary dealer and gallerist Bruno Bischofberger (1940–2026), whose friendships and collaborations with artists including Jean-Michel Basquiat, Francesco Clemente and Andy Warhol shaped an important chapter in contemporary art history.
Our recent exhibition, ‘Jean-Michel Basquiat. Engadin’ at Hauser & Wirth St. Moritz, would not have been possible without Bruno’s generous support and insight. Basquiat’s connection to Switzerland began in 1982 with his first exhibition at Galerie Bruno Bischofberger in Zurich. He returned many times to St. Moritz and the Engadin in the years that followed.
Pictured here is Basquiat’s portrait of Bruno Bischofberger in his hometown of Appenzell. The work stands as a testament to their friendship and to Bischofberger’s enduring legacy as a champion of artists and contemporary art.
We extend our deepest condolences to Bruno Bischofberger’s family, friends and colleagues.

Opening tonight in New York at our 22nd Street gallery: ‘Carol Rama. I See You You See Me’
This presentation gathers work from six decades of Rama’s career to provide fresh insight into some of the less explored aspects of her wildly original, radically unfiltered experiments in painting, sculpture, textile and bricolage.
Join us for the opening reception tonight from 6 – 8 pm. Link in bio to plan your visit.
