Andre Frattino will be at Comic Currents this Sunday in Savannah!

Andre Frattino is an award-winning graphic novelist born and raised in the wilds of North Florida. He holds degrees from both the Savannah College of Art and Design and the University of Florida, the latter of which he served as a staff cartoonist for The Independent Florida Alligator, on the popular “Son of a Gator” comic strip. Other works include his graphic adaptation of Patrick Smith’s beloved Florida classic A Land Remembered, the WWII biography Tokyo Rose: Zero Hour and Jim Henson’s The Storyteller: Shapeshifter anthology. A self-appointed paranormal enthusiast and lover of historical fiction and nonfiction alike, Andre is a proponent of using the graphic novel form to share stories of the past to inspire the next generation.

Andre Frattino is a professional illustrator and storyteller who has worked in a variety of roles, from published graphic novelist to ghost tour guide to reality television and podcast personality. He holds degrees from both Savannah College of Art and Design (BFA, Sequential Art) and the University of Florida (MA, Art Education). As a visual storyteller, he utilizes his skills in writing and illustrating to work on a variety of projects, both personal and commercial. He is the creator of the Florida-focused graphic novel series The Flagler’s Few (Pineapple Press) and has worked with clients that include the New York Times best-selling author Shelley Fraser Mickle, Infinite Energy, and Firehouse Subs. His recent titles include the Kickstarter success Simon Says, for which he served as writer, and his illustrative adaptation of A Land Remembered, a Pulitzer Prize-nominated novel. Frattino currently resides in Savannah, Georgia, with his amazingly talented wife, two furry rascals, and a school of koi fish. He moonlights as a walking ghost tour guide in his free time.

The event is located at E. Shaver Starland (The Gingerbread House) at 1921 Bull St. Free tickets are available as well as paid for tickets that include a signed copy of the book. Only books bought through E. Shaver or at the event will be signed. Beverages will be available for purchase at the bar in the Gingerbread House.
