Meet Gwen Moore, Jude Brown and Peter Paizy at Comic Currents TOMORROW from 1-5 at Ships of the Sea Museum in #Savannah!

Gwen is a comic artist and print-maker who loves experimental formatting and the potential for what a comic or zine can be. Their work spans from zines and mini-comics to various printmaking techniques, including risograph, screen printing, and linocut.

Jude is a comic artist and illustrator who loves coffee, physical media, and music/music-based subcultures. Their ultimate goal in life and art is to get weirder.

Peter is a Savannah-based sequential artist who pushes the boundaries of comics and storytelling through intimate slice-of-life narratives drawn from real experiences. With over five years of experience in comics, editorial, illustration, and concept art, his work focuses on creating personal connections with readers and expanding how readers see everyday life. He is currently pursuing an M.F.A. in Sequential Art at SCAD, where he develops emotionally driven stories rooted in romance and quiet moments of sorrow.

Andre Frattino will be at Comic Currents this Sunday in Savannah!

Andre Frattino is an award-winning graphic novelist born and raised in the wilds of North Florida. He holds degrees from both the Savannah College of Art and Design and the University of Florida, the latter of which he served as a staff cartoonist for The Independent Florida Alligator, on the popular “Son of a Gator” comic strip. Other works include his graphic adaptation of Patrick Smith’s beloved Florida classic A Land Remembered, the WWII biography Tokyo Rose: Zero Hour and Jim Henson’s The Storyteller: Shapeshifter anthology. A self-appointed paranormal enthusiast and lover of historical fiction and nonfiction alike, Andre is a proponent of using the graphic novel form to share stories of the past to inspire the next generation.

Meet rock star artist Michael Lee Harris at Ships of the Sea Museum Sunday, May 17 from 1-5PM.

Michael Lee Harris is the best artist ever. At least that’s what his mother says. He’s drawn such titles as Black Hitler saves Hanukkah, Motherfu*kin’ Monsters, and the upcoming Irrational Fears of a Black Dad.

Mike Becker is a comic book artist and designed based in Savannah GA. In his secret identity he teaches sequential art classes.

Meet Kevin in his own words: "My name is Kevin Betou, I’m a comic book artist and writer from Oakland, CA. I’ve self published numerous books and even done some professional work. I love telling stories about black and brown characters. My favorite fruit is the mango!"

This Sunday at Ships of the Sea Museum! Meet Comic Currents special guest Kendrick Mast!

Kendrick is a comic artist and illustrator specializing in dark fantasy and sequential storytelling. A graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Sequential Art, his work blends medieval aesthetics with modern themes and narrative-driven illustration. After serving five years in the United States Air Force, he returned to South Carolina to pursue comics and independent publishing. He is the creator of the comic series DIS and continues to develop original stories inspired by mythology, history, and fantasy.

This Sunday at Comic Currents! Meet Monster High tag-team sister duo Caroline and Katherine Shuda at Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum.

Caroline Shuda is a comic artist and illustrator from Olympia, Washington. She is currently based in South Carolina and is known for her work on IDW’s Monster High comics. She graduated from SCAD in 2021 with a BFA in Sequential Art and a minor in studio drawing that she completed by accident. Caroline’s interests include ghouls, eavesdropping, and hamsters.

Katherine Shuda is a comic book colorist and illustrator currently based in South Carolina. She graduated from SCAD in 2021, with a BFA in Illustration and a minor in Drawing. Katherine is best known for her work on IDW’s Monster High comics.

Comic Currents is a comic book convention that will be held at Ships of the Sea Museum in Savannah, GA on May 17, 2026 from 1-5PM.

Dave Valeza is an artist and illustrator, and best known for his work on the graphic novel trilogy by Rex Ogle: Four Eyes, Pizza Face, and Fruitcake published by Scholastic.
