About three things I was absolutely positive...
First: I forgot to book tickets to take John to the surprise Twilight rave.
Second: there was a part of him, and I didn't know how potent that part of him might be, that wished to wear the spider monkey costume instead.
And third: we were unconditionally and irrevocably unable to enter the Twilight rave.

bts getting ready for @bumnotesmusical in the Royal Irish Academy, where we staged Ireland's biggest ever homegrown improv show - back in May, little over a year since we debuted.

I don't take stock often enough of how much we've achieved since we assembled and attempted to figure out how to do this mildly complicated, moderately niche branch of comedy... or musical theatre? But 2 weeks out from our second Dublin Fringe Festival run seems a pretty good time.

Thank you, most sincerely, to everyone who has supported us in innumerable ways; and have come to see us sing a made up musical - once, thrice, more; and the hardcore friends who have actually come to every show we've put on.

You can catch the first leg of our Fringe run next weekend starting Saturday 6th Sept. This time we're playing with the records of history, recomposing it more to our liking... or understanding... or lack thereof. Who hasn't wanted to rewrite a year or two from the books?!

And for the first time ever, for one special performance on Saturday 20th we're doing a show just for kids! We're calling it Pick'n'Mix! You can be sure it will be sweet and silly, a mixed bag of pure joy and imagination.

⏪ Bum Notes’ Eras Tour: An Improvised History Musical
Join us on the 6th, 7th, 17th, and/or 20th of September as we travel back in time, chronicling some significant (or insignificant) event from the past in song and dance, all made up in the present! If you thought revisionist history was inaccurate, wait till you experience improvisionist. At least it will be funny though!

🍬 Bum Notes’ Pick ‘n’ Mix: An Improvised Youth Musical
For one matinée only bring your wee bairns along and watch us try to cram as many of their suggestions as possible into one fully-improvised very silly comedic musical! It's bound to be a hoot!!

🎹 We're also super excited to be accompanied for this run by the sensational @samkavanaghmusic who previously accompanied us at @edimprovfest and played a blinder (and a trash compactor). Our MD and regular accompanist @pjp597 is part of TWO other incredible Fringe shows you should definitely check out too!!!

📣 Bum Notes are back with their classic improvised musical—in what is set to be Ireland's biggest ever homegrown fully-improvised show! 😮

After a first year of sold out performances, including @sceneandheardfestivalofnewwork and @dublinfringefest, they’re taking on a brand new challenge in the Royal Irish Academy of Music's beautiful Whyte Recital Hall on May 22nd. They will finally achieve their dream of playing with a real live grand piano 🎹

Two new bums have been added to their belt, and now their pants are just bursting at the seams with humour, talent, and a readiness to craft your suggestion into a brand spanking new, once-off, fully-realised, on-the-spot musical!

Join them and see what happens when you let the story, songs, and characters of Broadway get written in real time by some of Ireland's silliest improv comics.
