Recap from yesterday’s #MotherWound Workshop, facilitated by myself and my Breakthrough Coach, Tanya @beyondsurvival_now.

We held space for 20 different stories and backgrounds, all sharing the same mother wound. This wasn’t a presentation, nor was it a trauma bonding session. In fact, we continued on our journeys of breaking free from the identities tied to our mothers and shared real tools for navigating away from victimhood.

I think most of all, I am still in awe of the REAL community during this workshop. Parents poured into themselves while their children were occupied by the support and space we were in. My own babies were there watching, witnessing, and growing alongside me as I walked in my calling in real time.

“Just wait till you have children.”

It’s often said with certainty, like a rite of passage you haven’t earned the right to speak on yet. But for me, it landed as one of the earliest introductions to the mother wound. It carried a quiet message that motherhood would humble me, overwhelm me, or prove me wrong. It felt less like guidance and more like a projection of fear dressed up as wisdom.

Now, as I navigate motherhood myself, I understand that while it stretches and challenges me, it also opens me. I get to witness my children becoming who they are. I get to love them deeply, learn myself through them, and show up with intention in ways that shift what I once inherited.

Those are the words I wish were shared more often. The possibility. The agency. The opportunity to do it differently.
