Ahead of Donna Thompson’s @_ddee upcoming appearance at @mo_notice on April 20th alongside @juliadosreis_viola , I've been reflecting on the versatility and vibrant spirit she's brought to the many musical spaces i've been fortunate enough to hear her in. I have a huge amount of respect for Donna's musicality and playing. She drums with great sensitivity, is an uncomplicatedly mesmerising singer and will almost certainly floor me on yet another instrument I had no idea she could play.

Give Donna's What In The World?! EP released last year and you'll soon understand where all this is coming from.  Whether it's the solitary, simplicity of Opportunity; the deadly dance of detail that is Gardener Street or the polyrhythmic muscle of What is it?!, there is something ubiquitous about the sound and feel of Donna's music that to me says it will age better than most.

Those conversations with Julia, @kwake.bass @cleveland_watkiss and @oren__marshall are round the corner and coming our way... Tickets available in the bio!

Totally lucked in with the replacement though, the always excellent @juliadosreis_viola of @jamstringcollective , who will now be playing duo with multi-instrumentalist @_ddee 🙏
